Re: Joggler KitKat 4.4.2 beta (24/3/14)

iPlayer channel or category selection doesn't work on ICS but does in KitKat. I hope that an iPlayer update might fix this ICS glitch some time. (Quoting myself now) I can confirm that the latest iPlayer update fixes navigation on ICS. Obviously, the Joggler still can't play video but it can be use...

This may be my next purchase; I like the coax option.

Re: Raspberry Pi Audio

I never used the Pi's audio output; I used a Behringer USB DAC and the sound was pretty good.

My only working Pi has now been sacrificed to my son to be used as a Minecraft server. I did have two, but the ethernet port stopped working on one of them.

Re: Dead?? Joggler

You can reformat them again but it's not as simple as you might think. When you write the images to the USB stick, you are writing a linux filesystem to it. Most of the stick will be in a format that Windows can't read. You would need to use Windows Disk Manager to delete the partitions and reformat...

Re: Dead?? Joggler

However, the Joggler will still not boot up without the USB stick so that would be a start. Can one of you techies explain how to do that? - VERY SIMPLY PLEASE! Most of the operating systems mentioned on the forum boot and operate FROM the USB stick. The internal memory is pretty small - you get mu...

Re: Dead?? Joggler

I'm always reluctant to offer to burn a USB stick for new users, because you learn so much by following the instructions and doing it yourself. However, I also realise that some newbies are so frustrated in attempting all this stuff that they give up and sell their Jogglers. If you get really stuck ...

Re: Dead?? Joggler

Hi Karlek, Downloaded Ubuntu 14.04.2 (32 bit version) from the web, copied to USB stick, inserted USB stick into Joggler and powered up but exactly the same result as previously. Malc. You need to use one of BuZz's distros from this site that is optimized for the Joggler. Download Ubuntu/Xubuntu or...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame

Does anybody know if 5.1 sound is achievable from the Joggler using a Behringer USB soundcard? Listening to Quadrophenia using Triode's Spotify plugin and several of the tracks are marked as 5.1 sound mixes. Unfortunately, the audio is only stereo, even though it's connected by S/PDIF to a 5.1 capab...

Re: Windows 8.1 on the Joggler

I thought if there had been more success I'd have read about it in the forum. Just asking before I consider buying a Pipo X8 (which won't be for a while.)

Windows 8.1 on the Joggler

I'm sure I read somewhere that Windows 8.1 could run on the Joggler (or might have been one of the other OpenPeak devices) but I can't find any details. Without asking anyone to post images that fall foul of licensing, can anybody give me any pointers on: if this is true how I'd go about running a l...

Re: Pipo X7 Windows 8.1 Smart Mini PC TV Box Media Player $9

Crikey! Have you seen the Pipo X8 ? It looks great. Apparently the Windows licence for a Mini PC was higher than for 7" tablets so they've stuck a touchscreen on and we have a serious successor to, or companion of, the Joggler. It will be the same price or even cheaper than the X7, due to the d...

Re: Joggler KitKat 4.4.2 beta (24/3/14)

Can I just clarify that, ignoring youtube, there is still no way to play video (whether files or streaming from iplayer) on the joggler's display itself, either under kitkat or under ICS? My understanding from this thread is that the joggler can initiate a chromecast video to play back elsewhere, b...

Re: Joggler KitKat 4.4.2 beta (24/3/14)

That's the same Fake GPS app I use on ICS but it won't install on KitKat on the Joggler. It does install on 4.4.2 on my phone though.

Re: Joggler KitKat 4.4.2 beta (24/3/14)

Rotation Manager was available in the Play Store but not Fake GPS. The only GPS tweaks are spoof apps that fool existing GPS but, of course, the Joggler has none.

I downloaded the Fake GPS .apk file and tried to install it but it won't (app not installed error.) Is there a way round this?

Re: Joggler KitKat 4.4.2 beta (24/3/14)

I couldn't install Fake GPS because it doesn't show in the Play Store, probably a build.prop thing as you said. I then installed Build Prop Editor and don't have a Scooby Doo what to change or what to change it to. Further research needed. I've also noticed that Joggler KitKat doesn't show on the li...

Re: Joggler KitKat 4.4.2 beta (24/3/14)

Thanks for the info, I'm still an Android novice. I managed to download the bus app .apk but it wouldn't install - it seems to go through the process but ends with a 'not installed' message. I'll have to do a bit of research on editing Android config files and the Fake GPS app. Other apps I looked a...

Re: Joggler KitKat 4.4.2 beta (24/3/14)

A lot of the music tracks on YouTube just have still image slideshows (or even a single image) to accompany the track anyway. YouTube is rubbish on Android for cat videos but pretty competent as a music player. If you've already created playlists in YouTube on your computer or tablet, just log in on...

Re: Joggler KitKat 4.4.2 beta (24/3/14)

The video only works through Chromecast.

YouTube is worth installing without a Chromecast though, because you can set up music playlists and there's lots of music that isn't on Spotify. The video stutters but the music plays well.

Re: Joggler KitKat 4.4.2 beta (24/3/14)

I'm back to KitKat again, pity there's no Edinburgh Bus Tracker in the Play Store for it :( I'm using Joggler KitKat as a controller for Chromecast because BBC iPlayer on ICS doesn't work properly. I can't select items from the top menu in iPlayer on ICS. For example, if I choose 'Categories' the de...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame

Hi gegs , are you still having a problem with this. I think the login used to be a simple text entry in a config file, which made it easy to retain but insecure. I think it's now handled by libspotify and is encrypted; I've read about other people who have had similar problems with password retenti...
