Re: speed of your broadband?
Chicken and egg. Xbox does have wifi but the kids moaning about the disconnections and lags made our ears bleed so we had to use a cable. I suspect you're right and we'll need to reassess setup. Who does the re-set?

Re: speed of your broadband?
so how does the cable get from the main socket to the Xbox ? wired in extension lead. Moving the router will not change the speed unless the internal extensions are removed or filtered and the line is re set if your line is BT wholesale ( that's in places where you can't get the cheap sky deals ). ...

Re: speed of your broadband?
photo 1.JPG Hi Hawsey Thanks for your advice. Here's the new internal master socket installed by BT a couple of days ago. Is it the one you mentioned? Router has been tested on all sockets (no change to speed) but I can't move router long term as the xbox is attached to it in another room. Hopefull...

Re: speed of your broadband?
One main (new) socket and a couple running off that. Tried usual troubleshooting with tech support and now waiting for next level of tech help. He was impressed with how bad speed is . Stupidly I didn't mention the DLM but then neither did he.

Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
Oooh marvellous, thanks BuZz! Will try this (and edited ubuntu) out as soon as I have sufficient speed to actually download the images (see my off topic post)...

Re: [RELEASE] XBMC for O2 Joggler
This is the most recent image but it's almost 2 years old. The version of xbmc on this is Eden and AFAIK peeps seem to be using the next release, Frodo (or even the next one Gotham). As for updating xbmc not sure if this is still relevant but worth a try? http://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/viewtopic.p...

Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
You could start with Buzz's base with nada on it if you want to play some (Ubuntu Base/Server 12.04 LTS (Precise) (Joggler Image v1.5 - 03/01/2014) or easier just to use Buzz's current Ubuntu builds and delete what you will not use on it as it already includes XBMC and Squeezeplay. The icons are al...

Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.
Buzz/Pete/anyone Curious. If I wanted to create a very lightweight image which on startup presents me with 2 'apps' - xbmc and squeezeplay - what would I need to do. Should I download and strip an existing OS or can I use a base (do they even share a base) and just add those 2 features to it? Is it ...

Re: [RELEASE] XBMC for O2 Joggler
@wcndave This image is out of date which might be why some bits aren't working? Have you tried updating it? I can't help with video sharing as I don't use xbmc that way - somebody else will, I'm sure, give you tips. I use it as a tiny tv/radio/music player in my cooking corner and it works well. The...

Re: TVCatchup replacement
Hi. Snap! It's my kitchen joggler too which has been PNP III'ed but only ever runs xbmc os.
I use confluence on it as it seems the most functional on my set up. I've never looked into clock or fancy screensavers tho as I like this joggler to black out when not in use.

Re: TVCatchup replacement
I gave up on TVC on all platforms ages ago Today I stumbled upon the xbmc addon F.T.V. I know I'm probably really late to the party but it seems to be an adequate freeview replacement of sorts. I've got it running at the moment and so far it's working quite well. The only thing missing is a tv guide...

Re: compress os software backup images?
Thanks guys. I think this How about just having an external drive dedicated to Joggler stuff may be the easiest way to solve my issue. My laptop only had a 100g memory (now there's virtually nothing left) so even shrunken images will probably eat into that meagre allowance. I got an old drive out of...

compress os software backup images?
I have got all my os images backed up to my laptop. I'm now really short on space. I've got nowhere else to move them to. I've tried to compress them but I don't seem to be able to get it to work on either windows own zip or 7zip. Some of the backups are of 8g usbs (huge)...maybe this is why? (I'm n...
