Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Will post another W2003 image with TS and other drivers running. BTW here's my display right now on the Joggler. First screen is main screen and second one is a live frame buffer capture of 4 Chumby's running Linux X windows. Will be doing something similiar with the Jogglers for "live" vi...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Pac use the drivers for the NIC that I posted above in a link. They seemed to work better. Also unplug the NIC cable when first booting; as sometimes I think the NIC card itself is causing the stall in the boot. Once booted go and change the NIC speed. Reboot again without the cable. It should show ...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Dan, Your Paypal stuff works fine. Pacman99uk; I was able to get the internal NIC to work fine by changing the autonegociation to 100Mbs Full. It just worked for me; but not sure if its the right way. BTW you will get some very odd MAC addresses unless you put in your own. I'll try to set up an imag...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

I did notice that it was faster to do an image over again and let it find the drivers rather than wait. I was able to boot the W2003 from the side USB port with or without a hub. I couldn't boot the image though using the inside USB port.

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Yes; Dan should set up a donation email address; how about it Dan! I've done it a few ways. Win32 disk manager errors out sometimes for me. I use USB Image tool. I also have done the manual thing with linux using GParted. The first image posted for XP was a bit bigger than my 4Gb drive so I wrote it...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

To get sound working on XP do this: 1 - Download the Gateway audio driver from here: http://global-download.gateway.com/GDFiles/Driver/Audio/Audio_Sigmatel_5.10.5185.0_XPx86XPx64_A.zip?acerid=634165019532301026&Step1=NOTEBOOK&Step2=E%20SERIES&Step3=E-155C&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=GATE...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

The last image is from my W2003 server running with an Atom D510. The first ones are of the XP image initially posted running on the Joggler.

See what your CPU-Z number look like with the W2003 OS running.

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

I have a W2003 standard server set up with a newer Atom D510 (pics above) and while I see the 2 cores and 4 threads; most of the work most of the time shifts over to one of the two cores. I'm running CPU-Z on that one. It ran really fast; in less than 10 seconds; on the Joggler it took over a minute.

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

So Dan; it should be just replacing the DLL eh?

BTW before you do anything; check your setup. These are my XP numbers. I didn't look yet at the W2003 setup. Might be the same or different?

Looked at the boot.ini lines and they look fine:
/fastdetect /kernel=ntkrnlmp.exe /hal=halmacpi.dll

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Jimeney,

I put it on a microsd 16Gb card initially. I used Linux though to get the image over.

Dan,

Here is a CPU-Z pic - yes - it shows one CPU and one thread.

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Got some numbers this morning from SisSoftware Sandra. It appears (but I really don't know) that the OS is running using one only of the two multithreading CPUs. < Processor > Model: Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU Z520 @ 1.33GHz Speed: 1.33GHz Peak Processing Performance (P:2.66GFLOPS) Adjusted Peak Performa...

Re: release: jogglerxp foshiz edition (image up)plus revised

Considering I've not played too much yet with the HP Touchpad / Android on a large touchpad; its OK; BUT I am a newbee relating to said things. I did initially overclock it and did add Preware right away. Its my nature to tinker. I ordered 5 and only got one though.

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Personally I like W2003 Lite over XPSP3. Its looking good Dan. Only seeing the last posted stuff relating to: 1 - warm boot - doesn't reboot. 2 - mostly boots just fine off of external USB port; doesn't boot up from internal USB port. 3 - hit or miss on an external USB port hub connection boot. All ...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Yes the audio stuff goes into a lot of detail.

Yes; the USB SSD works nicely. There's been a short delay on my last order of the Kingspec USB SSD; very courteous folks.

Thank-you Dan for giving us Windows on the Joggler!

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

The EFI start and boot error out when trying to boot the NTFS partition from the inside USB port. No booting problems from the external USB port most of the time. Sometimes though it'll get to a point when booting that it can't find the boot.ini file or good ntdlr file. But I'm playing some; fast US...
