Re: where are the joggler users?

Darn it. Manchester is a little far from London Town (as the BBC lot keep moaning). ;)

Re: Lines/haze on Openpeak screen - gets no further - FIXED!

Hi Roobarb, so the reflash tool is yours? Thanks! Yes, it's been very useful to be able to reflash my Jogglers, if only to rule out problems with the stock OS and one Joggler whose NIC won't start in XP. Yup, it's me. Guilty. ;) Anyway, I'm in danger of hijacking the thread so I'll keep short. If I...

Hehe, I don't think I'd written it when this thread was going. In fact, it may have been this thread that prompted me to do it. :)

Re: Joggler crashes - hardware problem?

The screen freezes (not a clear image but you can still see what it showed before crashing) or shows weird colors and at the same time (not always but sometimes) the audio output plays a cracking noise. This has happend with original firmware and with the Ubuntu 11.04 from exotica. Well, this isn't...

Re: Joggler as a firewall

I installed ubuntu server but had a number of errors when installing Squid. I didn't have a chance to work out why and, when I came back to investigate there where a number of file system errors showing. I might have another go in a few weeks time. I'm not sure that /etc/fstab is set to run a fsck ...

If you ever do leave it running for >5 hours and it doesn't die, please post your asound.conf file here straight away! If a fix were found for the chipmunk audio and vanishing audio problems at the same time, I think a lot of people would be very happy. :)

Well, ladies and gents, I have received the Joggler which Mr_Dave has kindly sent and I'm seeing the error for myself for the first time in 'real life'.

I'll be looking at this over the next week, so I'll be posting back if I find out anything interesting. :)

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)

Just one other unrelated question about the new Squeezeplay. The beep when pressing any selection has become really faint, even when maxing the volume in effects settings. Is there a way to make this louder? That's a good question, to which I have no good answer. It's the same on my system - the UI...

Re: My joggler reboots at 5-minute intervals

What about trying to flash the Joggler with the original firmware and then letting it update itself over the net like Rockuad suggested? Not that I could find the original firmware...! That's just the thing - the reflash tool flashes the Joggler in exactly the same way as OpenPeak would do it (so f...

Re: dead??

All flashes go right through all stages and is reported as ok,on reboot stays at 02 screen, left it upto 10 mins a time. I'd say it's time to try one of BuZz's images . Boot one of those (I'd recommend Joli OS) and use gparted to take a look at the internal flash (mmcblk0). You can repartition it, m...

Re: dead??

It has been known for the internal flash memory to give up; the reflash would appear to work successfully, but then there would be a corruption and the Joggler might fail to boot. If the reflasher seems to be working properly, give it another try - and be patient waiting for it to boot. As the refla...

Re: Native Squeezeplay but can't play WMA files

Do I still have to work out how to install mplayer on the etrayz (ARM based device)? I think you're definitely going to need to find some support for that device; I've never heard of one before, but I'd assume there's a forum or some support for it somewhere? Unless someone else here has one and ha...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)

I had to install and enable the 3rd party iPlayer plugin and it works like a dream I second that one - in fact, I was assuming this was what you were using! Triode's plugin for the server is far better than the default. Spotify plugin worked brilliantly for me too, until I realised I was playing th...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)

On closer checking it appears that it is just the BBC Radio streams that don't work so maybe it's something to do with the stream format? The BBC streams use AAC format IIRC. There's three acronyms for you. Try installing the restricted extras packages on the Joggler running Logitech Media Server; ...

Re: Native Squeezeplay but can't play WMA files

My Squeezebox Server is on the native OS (and on my Ubuntu stick when I'm running that). I suppose that means I can't add the restricted extras to the native OS and I'm stumped when trying to play WMA except when using my Ubuntu stick. It's a pity though. My wife prefers the native OS. You could do...

Re: Native Squeezeplay but can't play WMA files

I downloaded 'restricted extras' (codecs etc), enabled 'play wma' plugin, and now they play fine. I didn't pick up on this at the time, but yes, for WMA content to work it has to be transcoded by Logitech Media Server before being sent to SqueezePlay for playback. Installing the restricted extras p...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)

Hi, I'm new to this Joggler thing having been using Squeezeboxes since the early slimp3 days. I've installed your excellent version of Squeezeplay on to my Joggler running Linux Natty 11.04 that I downloaded from joggler.exotica.org. All is working well with the squeezebox server running on the sam...

Re: My joggler reboots at 5-minute intervals

Did anyone ever get to the bottom of this rebooting after update loop issue....? Its driving me mad! Not so far as I know. I've never experienced it myself, so there's no way I can think of to get to the bottom of it. Trying to troubleshoot it over the forums just hasn't worked; I think it's one of...
