I run mevi's XP from an external HDD as well mine is toshiba 320gig. It fit's perfectly
I use mine mainly for streaming music + video's via wifi. I prefer mevi's XP because it run's cooler than linux os'es
according to core temp about 30 degree's

Raspbmc is running on my PI it work's good. One thing is not to overclock the PI to much it will just freeze done that a few time's on mine.

Hi All It does boot from usb i get the ubuntu screen then goes to prompt. It has ethernet cable plugged in on first boot. I dont know the login password's. This is the thing i was not using a hub when trying the distro's it USB stick/USB HDD in either USB port.
It only worked on the internal one that confused me

Had another play today i downloaded 0.8 version and it doesnt work it flashed on the screen about a broken pipe.
Have no idea on that one !!

I have done more testing of different distro's they all work as they should just this one does not work.
Iam using win32disk imager 0.4 version on windows 7 ultimate 32bit.
And i have used the same USB HDD on all of them. XMBC is only one that fails.

I just thought i would try this os and it did not boot in to desktop it just went in to login. Tried several times and still the
same and different drives
I was thinking to replace XP because of non working ethernet in XP
