Re: **BUILD 3 - Windows XP Professional SP3 (Plus Tablet PC)
yes, the new video driver should sort out the shifted pixels and give you some more video options too. The file name of the one Pete has linked to looks right to me. If you want to be super-sure, it is linked to by Inaxeon in a post on the Coreboot/SeaBIOS thread. An advanced search on the forum sho...

Re: Sorry for my inactivity :)
Welcome back!! Congrats on the wedding plans... I did that once, not wanting to put you off, but I'm not sure I'd wanna try that again. :D Just the other day all my stuff was put out on the street by my girlfriend so I'm living with my elderly dad until I get a job as I was let go a few months back,...

Re: What is the best XP for offline use?
XP is definitely waaaay better on a HDD.. the slow small file write speed on a SD card or a USB stick will make life miserable for you. You won't be able to power a HDD on an unpowered hub. :) I suppose I should plug my XP build, which I use myself on a 24/7 network streaming Joggler. It's very hard...

Re: OS that doesnt require mounting.
Most of them need the drive to be partitioned a particular way. Windiskimager doesn't need to be installed for it to work as it's a standalone executable, though I doubt even that will get you past the locked down library terminals. I seem to remember that Android comes as zip files that you unpack ...

Persevere, indeed. Need plenty of perseverance with Jogglers.

Re: SqueezePlay OS + mains power loss = no boot?
It's unlikely an EFI fault as you'd not be able to restore to factory OS or external OS and it would stay permanently on the logo until you had the opportunity to flash the EFI chip on a working Joggler. Considering how delicate and susceptible to getting borked the onboard storage is, I've always t...

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
I had a Joggler that refused to boot beyond the O2 logo, even after trying all the usual fixes. I'm sure that I would have had to reflash that EFI chip at some stage anyway, so I took out the EFI chip and flashed on a working Joggler with Coreboot/SeaBIOS and it's working just fine. Pick up a cheap ...

Re: **BUILD 3 - Windows XP Professional SP3 (Plus Tablet PC)
I'm sure you've done your homework, so forgive me for going over any of this again. If you are planning to use a Joggler as your main PC, you'll need a hub (use port 4 for the USB stick), keyboard and mouse, although you might be able to skip the mouse for the touchscreen & look up the keyboard ...

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
I follow this thread with interest but little understanding lol:a couple of questions apologies if I missed something and they have already been asked . 1 does coreboot and sea bios make it any easier to have say a triple boot with touch screen choice say W8 /xubuntu/Joli it is only possible via ke...

Re: **BUILD 3 - Windows XP Professional SP3 (Plus Tablet PC)
We were all newbies once. :D ccleaner on the build has a quicker uninstaller which might speed up the process. Good idea about the mini WIFI dongle. Also allows you to move it out of the case to the hub, freeing up the internal port for a HDD (keep that drill handy). Our WIFI needs at home saturate ...

Re: **BUILD 3 - Windows XP Professional SP3 (Plus Tablet PC)
Well I made one for the Chinese forum (Thank you Google Translate), but it was a big bloated disaster with huge Chinese multi language packs.... it let out a wimper and died just as I was about to release it. I lost my Joggler mojo that day, I think. :D As for the version we have here, I'm quite hap...

I was sure they had Ikea in the US, perhaps it's the 'flat pack' term that is an British thing! Does anyone remember that great scene in Fight Club where the protagonist walks into his home that has come to resemble the IKEA (renamed FURNI) catalogue? http://reel3.com/fight-club-and-the-ikea-persona...

Re: My goodness ... the Holy Grail of Minidisc
Back in the 90s, my band used a portable Phillips DCC to mix down our tracks. They were 20bit/44,1khz digital recorders that were backwards compatible with analogue cassettes. The compression ratio was less than minidisk's ATRAC. It still works now although I have to use the optical out as the line ...

Re: **BUILD 3 - Windows XP Professional SP3 (Plus Tablet PC)
Yeah, looks like the downloads are not working right now.... Minus, the file hosting site I use has been working fine for months and months, so perhaps it's a problem at their end - the server times out. I can log in and see my files there, so perhaps try in a day or two. Let's keep an eye on it as ...

Re: lovefilm?
You might want to check that your TV isn't set to 'AUTO' for the aspect ratio. Can I ask why? Well I've had TVs that if set to AUTO, they constantly look to see if they can resize the picture to match what it thinks the aspect ratio should be. Advert breaks, dark scenes, etc. can all set it jumping...

Re: lovefilm?
is this streaming on your TV? You might want to check that your TV isn't set to 'AUTO' for the aspect ratio. On my Sammy TV remote, the button is labeled 'P.SIZE'. Just a guess. The one that works best for me and my TV/PC combo is 'SCREEN FIT', but maybe '16:9' is the one for you. If you can make do...

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
xXx, I can't comment on a zif-SD adaptor as I've not seen them, but avoid the zif-CF adaptors as they're too big to fit inside (install details and photos are in the Wiki of this site), if you're looking to have a tidy install.. You'll probably have the best results with a zif SSD as they are thin a...

Re: Coreboot and SeaBIOS
Those are rubberized and they sit against the metal heatsink. Once side of the metal heatsink has small fins on it. I haven't checked to see how this one runs XP and whether the NIC works well in it. The other one has been SeaBios'd. That said it looks to be that Seabios itself will not work so far...

Re: **BUILD 3 - Windows XP Professional SP3 (Plus Tablet PC)
I've got an XP Joggler running 24/7 which doesn't get warm. Not sure if a fan is gonna be a must-have although they really go for it on the Chinese HiPDA forum. This XP build doesn't have an antivirus installed but it reports itself as genuine so you'll be able to use microsoft security essentials w...
