Re: **BUILD 3 - Windows XP Professional SP3 (Plus Tablet PC)

Inzimam, did you see that I sent you a PM with private links to the XP builds. I keep those links off the forum as it's a PAYG service. Pete, if hot file is just going to expire the links, I will keep looking for a better and more permanent host. In the meantime, I am linking forum members to my S3 ...

Re: **BUILD 3 - Windows XP Professional SP3 (Plus Tablet PC)

Post #1 is the current link, but it's not been updated or refreshed since december 2011. Still good to go, but you will need to update windows and some of the software with the latest versions. Ethernet is a hit or miss affair and it comes down to luck of the draw with your hardware. :( For the hub ...

Re: Insomnia blues

I have tried most of the "sleep hygiene" techniques and got advice from a psychologist. The one that gets me sleeping, but is just horrible is those white noise / alpha & theta wave meditative things. I made my own using 200hz & 208hz sine waves. One in the left ear, the other in t...

Re: **BUILD 3 - Windows XP Professional SP3 (Plus Tablet PC)

Picking up power from the internal port didn't work for me, but YMMV. My soldering sucks. :D I have suspected the powering to the external port is a bit dodgy since I managed to almost power up a Joggler from a HDD powered from an iPad USB charger. The optical does work, I remember the pins on the s...

Re: Multiple os boot on startup

Yeah, reflashing a bricked EFI is gonna require a second good Joggler to do the hot swap.... Unless you can still boot from an external stick and flash from Ubuntu, etc. I still don't know if that is actually possible. One of the Linux heads might be able to answer that for you.

Re: Insomnia blues

Considering we get a bit of every type of weather throughout the year, we are still unprepared for any of it in the UK. :D I like the snow. Great photo, Pete. As for the insomnia, my sleep is more and more disturbed as the months go on - either wide awake and don't sleep at all, or wake up often thr...

Re: Multiple os boot on startup

Isn't rEFIt a change to the Jogglers EFI? That put me off trying it at the time... I wasn't brave/wreckless then. :D http://reboot.pro/files/file/279-uefi-multi/ This is a new UEFI/BIOS multi boot tool that boots VHDs from USB stick. I havent tried it myself, but i get a newsletter from reboo.pro no...

Re: Joggler won't Flash

From that eBay job lot, I had a Joggler that would appear to flash, but never boot beyond the O2 logo without a USB stick. EFI re-write cured that one. Pete's suggestion to temporarily swap the EFI chip is a good one. Touch a radiator to ground yourself beforehand. :) Where my 1GB eMMC had died, I h...

Re: **BUILD 3 - Windows XP Professional SP3 (Plus Tablet PC)

Has that stick worked with other images? Might it be another stick on it's way out? I know it's a silly question, but I'm afraid I don't have many better suggestions right now. Another late evening. :-/ As it boots on a different PC, I'm inclined to think it's unlikely the stick and more a driver or...

Re: **BUILD 3 - Windows XP Professional SP3 (Plus Tablet PC)

Hi pete, So is this just one particular Joggler/USB combo or are all the SeaBIOS Jogglers having this same problem with the USB ports. I didn't see that problem with the Jogglers I tested XP with on SeaBIOS, but I never had them running 24/7 or daily.. My full-time Jogglers kept the EFI as they were...

I can't guarantee such a quick response every time ;) I will edit post #1 with file mirrors once I have uploaded to one or more extra file hosts that are: Free Reliable Files don't expire and won't require re-upload Doesn't impose a download limit Doesn't force users to wait in a queue or throttle d...

I get email notifications when anyone posts on this thread! 15 minute response time this evening. How's that for customer service. :D :D Andrew, the min.us service either works just fine or has this hiccup where the files are unreachable for a day. I keep meaning to switch elsewhere, but I'm stuck o...

Re: Joggler won't Flash

^^^ Yup, the blurry, fuzzy white screen we believe to be something to do with starting from a cold temperature as it goes when the Joggler warms up. The white flash that you get when power is first applied to the Joggler is also normal. No death screens there! :) Stuck on the logo is the real proble...

Morgan Freeman would be perfect, depending on his faith. :D

Good with people, was never a Nazi Youth, won't collude with child molesters, would definitely co-operate with authorities investigating said molestation (not resign and hide in the Vatican for the remainder of his life), is totally awesome.

Re: Joggler won't Flash

I might have missed something, I think I've read the whole thread, but I can't see if you have said what shows on the screen on boot. Just stuck the O2 or Openpeak logo? Is that where you are typing blind? Or is the screen blank, or does it seem to attempt to boot looking at the USB stick LED? Sorry...

Re: Joggler unable to run many OS images

The hot-swap method of re-writing EFI chips is initially scary, but as long as you familiarise yourself with the process before you start, you will be fine. I am sure. You seem pretty tech-savvy, Chonker. BUT... The process has resurrected what would otherwise be dead stuck on EFI boot logo, or only...

Re: **BUILD 3 - Windows XP Professional SP3 (Plus Tablet PC)

If you are after the original dll or exe, I will have to dig around on my external HDD for that and post it another day (possibly Friday, as I am away with the kids and that will be when I get home). I will have the original backed up. The build 3 backups on the HDD are the only Joggler things I hav...

Re: **BUILD 3 - Windows XP Professional SP3 (Plus Tablet PC)

After I typed that, I kinda wondered if you'd know the word, Pete! Being chuffed is being pretty happy about something. USBoot on my build, I edited one of the .exe or .dll files to remove a boot graphic that appears mid way through the XP boot. The text you describe, is that the couple of lines tha...

I think USBoot is all listed in add/remove programs. From memory, there are 3 different programs and/or services.

Great seeing it used so much. Chuffed!

Risen like a fiery Phoenix! :D

Good to hear that it's not dead - yes my brain hadn't registered the word O2, only the word black. I suspected the worst.
