Re: Boost Native Joggler Volume
Is there any way to make this setting permanent so that it survives a reboot?

The question has been asked, but never produces an answer:

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
After reading some of the previous comments in this thread that talk about having to reflash 6 or 7 times before it finally works I decided that I'd sit and watch the telly whilst repeatedly reflashing my jogger, giving it 30 minutes to reboot after each reflash. After 3 reflashes it still stuck on...

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
Hello Roobarb,
Did you ever get any of your 3 ebay Jogglers to boot from the internal flash?
If so, how?

Re: ICS X86 Source Out!
Sorry if I'm being a bit dim, but how do you get this on to a USB stick?
I was expecting 1 img file but there are several in the "Easy to use package USB".

Ok now I'm with you.
It reports 1028128768 which is the same as the fdisk command reports.

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
I final got around to googling "mmcblk0" and have now learnt that this name/designation is used on other devices than the joggler!!! So mmc refers to Multi Media Card or flash memory devices? I tried "sudo blockdev --getsize64 /dev/mmcblk0" in a Putty SSH session to my Jog...

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
Buzz, is it your belief that mmcblk0 takes up all the storage space of the 1GB chip? What command in Linux would be used to create the partitions in mmcblk0? What command would be used to create/define/name mmcblk0 itself? Would any of those commands show the total size of the 1GB chip? Sorry if the...

Are you sure that they are not the RAM chips including U6, U7, U8 and U9?BuZz wrote:it isn't a 1gb ic. it is 2x 512mb flash chips - http://www.jogglerwiki.com/wiki/File:HiRes13.JPG

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
it doesn't act like a harddisk. it is a block device supported by linux. I just assumed that with commands like "fdisk" which report back in heads, sector, tracks and cylinders that some kind of translation was happening. it isn't a 1gb ic. it is 2x 512mb flash chips - http://www.jogglerw...

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
Can I bounce a few thoughts off you and see what I might learn or what ideas it might spark for yourself and others? Please be patient with me because I'm no expert on this stuff, particularly Linux. Please also feel free to correct me on anything that follows: We are dealing with a 1GB flash memory...

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
So if we weren't aware of that 8k of space can we assume that there might be other "things" (for want of better word) that we might not know? I don't doubt there are hardware unknowns in the Joggler. Only the hardware designers know the full story, but it's a device I think we are getting...

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
Let's face it, if it's not the EFI chip and it's not the 1GB flash, then that only leaves a hardware problem and I'm guessing not many of us have the skill and test equipment to troubleshoot one of those, so I think that the flash memory needs well and truly eliminating from our inquires before we a...

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
So if we weren't aware of that 8k of space can we assume that there might be other "things" (for want of better word) that we might not know? If so, then I ask again, is it possible to image/copy the entire 1GB flash of a good joggler and transfer it to a stuck one? I'm talking image at a ...

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
This might be nothing, or even just confusion on my part, but back in the days of the old website/forum I posted about the fact that the four mmcblk0pX's don't add up to the full amount of the reported size of the memory chip. I think there was 8kbytes unaccounted for. Could this have something to d...

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
Thank you for still working on this. As you might have read I have 2 Jogglers that it doesn't work on and I have eliminated the EFI memory chip as the cause. So my next step is to try and find a definitive memory test that will tell me if the 1GB flash is knackered. Or even just some kind of compare...
