fitting/using an external I2S DAC rather than a USB one?

Hi All Apologies if this should be in the 'hardware hacking' board, or has maybe been done to death previously, but I couldn't find much on this with a bit of searching... I am thinking of getting another of my stash of jogglers up and running with SQPOS. I am already using a couple of these with an...

Re: Logitech & Joggler stuff for free

Thanks from me too for this. I live on the South Coast and used to occasionally listen to Radio FIP. It will nice to give that a go again on a Joggler!

Re: Trying to bring a car boot Joggler back to life - short somewhere?

Hi Pete Great news jkm. Yes what I replaced was a zener diode and I called it a fuse. Apologies. It was burnt to a crisp. I do not recall now what it was I replaced it with. That said just install a similarily sized zener diode rated at ~ 5VDC and low watts (well like 1 watt). OK, well that clears t...

Yeah, I know what you mean ... I do have some skills in this area though. It'd be nice to get things right. and maybe add to the body of knowledge about these little beasts ;-)

Re: Trying to bring a car boot Joggler back to life - short somewhere?

Well, curious... I took a closer look at the black device: http://images.jkn.webfactional.com/2019-07-02-181452.jpg and it looked pretty suspect. In fact it crubled away easily under the slight pressure of a pair of pliers ... and now the Joggler boots up fine! So, two thoughts: - why is no-one ment...

Re: Trying to bring a car boot Joggler back to life - short somewhere?

Hi Pete There is a fuse near by the 5VDC input on the motherboard. Typically if the fuse is burnt up then you see it and there will be no power to the main board. Maybe the fuse shorted to ground. Take pictures of the board near the 5VDC input (both sides) just for some extra eyes. I have replaced o...

Trying to bring a car boot Joggler back to life - short somewhere?

Hi All I blew £3 on a Joggler at a Car boot sale at the weekend - no PSU but I have a surfeit of those... On powering it up, not a lot happens, so I've dismantled it to investigate a little further. I think there must be a short somewhere - the input voltage drops way down from 5V when it is plugged...

Re: Unable to connect to WiFi: CRDA error

Is the WNDA3100 (also dual band, I think) also supported in SQPOS V3, can you tell me? I have no idea, I'm afraid - a lot of Netgear drivers are in the kernel and I included as many wifi and ethernet USB devices as possible, so if there's any kernel support for it at all, it is likely to be there. ...

Re: Unable to connect to WiFi: CRDA error

Hi Roobarb In fact I'd quite like to try a more modern USB adapter but it's not yet such a problem that I want to take my Jogglers apart and try to find/build drivers etc...! The real solution for me would be to switch to 5GHz, and connect my 5GHz base station instead. I can highly recommend the Net...

Re: Free (broken) Joggler - Just postage costs

Hi I've found my old Joggler on a clear out. It's in good condition externally but doesn't come on. I see a flashing green light through the panel at the back. Searching reveals this is a known issue. I can solder so probably could fix it, but just don't have the time / wouldn't be able to mess wit...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)

Hi Johnny Good that you got it going. I do recall reading somewhere that the wireless mac address is "derived" from wired mac address as the wireless card doesn't have one. Not sure how accurate this is as I thought all network devices would have their own unique mac address. Anyway, have ...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)

Hi All Well, I seem to have got things working at last, although I am not entirely sure what made the difference... I did a combination of: on the server, editing /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs/server.prefs (after performing sudo systemctl stop squeezeboxserver ) and clearing out everything, or rem...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)

Hi Johhny Weird isn't it. I do recall that some "jiggery-pokery" is done to MAC addresses by SQOS, to try and create a pseudo unique address. Reading your last post jogged (pun intended!) my memory in that I had some funnies when trying to use MAC addresses in my router configuration to ti...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)

OK, some more real information - the plot thickens... == Joggler 1 only on == MAC address of wlan0 is 90:4c:e5:18:6d:60 My router sets this to 192.168.0.156 via DHCP ssh in, and ifconfig says: wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 90:4c:e5:18:6d:60 inet addr:192.168.0.156 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)

Hi Guys Thanks for all of the above ... it's heartening to know that what I am attempting to do should be fine. I do need to check the MAC addresses, and in fact in my earlier posting I did notice that the MAC address shown on the server control panel (for the player) was not exactly the same as the...

OK, let's start from the beginning. Hopefully this is more clearly presented information... I have Logitech Media Server installed on a home server (not sure of version, but < 7.8.0)).
