Re: Joggler KitKat 4.4.2 beta (24/3/14)
ICS is more usable with an alternative launcher but I still find KitKat a more satisfying experience. There is better use of screen architecture and it feels like a pukka Android device, not a hack. Pity about the shutdown problem though. EDIT: I revise my opinion a little about the difference betwe...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame
I use Triode's excellent Spotify plugin but I've been having problems with the plugin keeping my login credentials. Frequently I get a server error and the only way to fix it is to enter my password in the plugin settings again. It's fine after that (for a while.) It's making it a bit useless for fa...

Re: Joggler KitKat 4.4.2 beta (24/3/14)
Moving app icons and they whizz off the top of the screen when I try to place them, for example. The interface appears to be bigger than the visible area. I'll try it with Nova Launcher to see if I prefer ICS to Kitkat. EDIT: one thing that's better about Kitkat is that resizing the data partition g...

Re: Joggler KitKat 4.4.2 beta (24/3/14)
My Android Joggler gets turned off every night and I have a visceral aversion to pulling the plug to turn it off so I think I'll stick with my trusty ICS build. Yep, further tests show that the only way to guarantee (!!!?) a Kitkat reboot is a hard reset, i.e. cut the power. Switching off at the wa...

Re: Joggler KitKat 4.4.2 beta (24/3/14)
Well it looks like my suspicions were correct. The soft boot is screwing up the boot process in Android Kitkat. I tried to soft boot my kitchen Joggler and it is now stuck on the Android splash screen. This is the same install that survived a total power outage yesterday (everything in the house wen...

Re: Joggler KitKat 4.4.2 beta (24/3/14)
Don't want to chance the soft reboots just yet. I'm a bit fed up with re-imaging and resizing.
I've just been up in my son's room replacing his "don't ever switch it off" Joggler with a stick that has already survived about a dozen hard reboots.

Re: Joggler KitKat 4.4.2 beta (24/3/14)
Related to dwl's query here http://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2206#p24080 I now have two Jogglers running Kitkat that survive reboots. Here's how I did it and I hope it works for you: 1) I formatted an 8gb Sandisk Cruzer Blade USB stick 2) I downloaded the most recent image f...

Re: I would like to apologise
How did you get Kitkat to survive a reboot? I could never manage this! Do you have root working too? I've not tried anything that requires root privileges so I'm not sure if it's rooted or not, I just installed the Kitkat image linked to from this forum. Strange that you should mention the reboot p...

Re: I would like to apologise
Hi Daniel, stick around and offer some insights. Do you still use the Joggler? I couldn't do without mine. I have a networked music system running Squeezeplay OS and I've just set up Android Kit Kat on another. Android video apps don't work well because there isn't a suitable driver but, and it is a...

Sorry, you are of course correct. I had my SqueezeplayOS blinkers on because I'd just re-installed it (and all my plugins) before reading the thread.

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
Did you comply with this part of the instructions? The minimum you need to get started is an account at mysqueezebox.com, which will give you access to content over the internet. However, to get the most out of SqueezePlay you should install Squeezebox Server onto your computer. This will serve out...

Can this be added to the Joggler version of LMS?castalla wrote:However, if you use squeeze2upnp application then it might work - it would appear as another squeezebox player, and then will play all streams.

Re: Just saying hello
Hi Steve B, welcome aboard. Your Joggler purchase will be one of the best (and cheapest) tech purchases you will ever make. I have three operational ones and four others for tinkering or replacements should any of my Jogglers die (which hasn't happened yet and they have been on 24/7 for over 4 years...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame
The 31MB partition only manages the boot procedure so just leave that alone. The linux partition is where all the good stuff is and can be resized to fill the USB stick if you use Gparted. Read up a lot on how to use it if you're unfamiliar; it's not difficult to use but it's easy to screw you're sy...

Re: PnP III: Enhance the standard OS - THAT'S ALL FOLKS!
Thanks for all your hard work on PnPIII. I understand why you've called a halt though. BBC iPlayer stopped working on my network enabled Blu-Ray player too - it's just not worth the effort to maintain things that keep breaking. Nevertheless, the ground work is there if anyone wants to create new Jog...

Re: RadioFeeds UK & Ireland (Internet Radio) for P'n'P III
Can someone using SqueezePlay OS with LMS installed on the same Joggler confirm that installation works for them as well, please? (You'll need a username, which you can get from registering at http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/squeeze, if you don't already have one). I can confirm that it works for me on...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame
I can confirm that in the partition I see on Windows, it's only 31MB in size, with 20MB free . Is that too low? Has anyone else managed to install LMS on a 2GB stick? You're only seeing the FAT boot partition in Windows. It can't read the linux partition, although you should be able to see it as an...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame
I don't really know but I've only ever had problems (not with SqueezePlay OS) using small sticks that were either smaller than their stated size or had too little free space left, causing fragmentation.

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame
Try with a bigger USB stick than 2GB (heck, do they still make 'em that small?)
I use 8GB Sandisk ones and I've not had a problem installing LMS.
