Re: SqueezePlay for OpenFrame
It could probably be done ... but another approach is to run JiveLite rather than SqueezePlay and install/run Squeezelite if you want a local player (others have done that). That sounds like the best way forward. I see that Roobarb has packaged up a Debian Bookworm image for the Joggler on his site...

Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame
Thanks Boss, trouble at t'mill solved
I tried that Mastodon, but used another username (what was the nickname for a bus conductor?)
anyways I could not get connected to the dvsn server
all good now. I'll check Bullseye when I get time

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
I built a Joggler using the latest Bullseye build (5.10.186) and in the past the "of-install" script to install Squeezeplay worked, but sadly it now fails. It seems to be trying to download 7.8 from https://openbeak.net/openframe/squeezeplay/v7.8/ but the folder is empty. Any chance you c...

Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame
Today I made a new image using the latest download and ran sudo update. (there is now a 12.1 bookworm release) I installed Ralphy's squeezeplay I also modified @sixedup jivelite.service file to use squeezeplay (used sudo su to make the script as root) root@openframe:/home/of# nano /etc/systemd/syste...

Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame
@roobarb! Thanks for doing this, it is great you are keeping these Jogglers alive :-) I needed to build a new Squeezeplay Joggler and tried this build but the script to install Squeezeplay isn't included. I had a look at the package below but didn't get far due to my lack of Linux skills. I suspect...

Re: Updating SqueezeplayOS
@sixedup Thanks for the jivelite.service script I installed it on a Bookworm image that I built using "of" as the user. "of" seems also to be "root", well anyway, your script works. of@openframe:~$ sudo systemctl status jivelite.service ● jivelite.service - Jivelite Loa...

Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame
Just a note to say that "sudo of-expand" still does not work on the internal ram of the Cisco Openframe
On both Bullseye and Bookworm it goes into a boot loop on rebooting
Sigh.....................................................!

Re: Updating SqueezeplayOS
@sixedup Well the first thing to say, is that you obviously know a lot more than I do :) I don't know much about linux of any sort, if I find something that works' I stick with it. This is how I install Squeezelite to use the joggler internal speaker ------------------------------------------------...

Re: Updating SqueezeplayOS
Some further thoughts If you want to keep it on the internal ram then I think Ralphy's Squeezeplay is the way to go. I use an external usb stick or sd card in a reader for testing out the procedure. I don't expand the card size, so that is always comparable to the Internal ram so far I have it worki...

Re: Updating SqueezeplayOS
From some old notes Originally posted by chill View Post - The 'Quit' option on the Jivelite home screen dumps you out of Jivelite, and in my case leaves a terminal screen with some messy video artefacts along the bottom third of the screen. I think that option should be changed to restart JiveLite,...

Re: Updating SqueezeplayOS
@sixedup I normally install Jivelite using xserver, but here is a procedure I have just completed, without xserver, it gives jivelite, autostart at reboot using a cronjob, no cursor and calibration is out a bit. but workable. This brings the size to Debian GNU/Linux comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY...
