Re: Smokescreen

Sorry Dave I thought you'd sorted the partitioning in another thread. Just to confirm, you flash the SqPOS .IMG file to your stick. And then use a partition manager program to add a partition for your music in the unused space? Does this workshop joggler require the WiFi stick at all? If it doesn't ...

Re: Joggler wanted

If you don't mind lack of stand then there's a guy in Leeds selling a load that were previously used as displays in a gambling shop. There's a recent thread about them.

Re: Wall Mounting & Power

Although technically I would suggest a tablet doesn't turn off, it just goes in to standby under normal use and although not quite the same thing I consider using the power button in SqPOS that turns off the screen to be essentially a standby mode.

Re: My cunning plan with Squeezeplay OS

The standard SqPOS IMG file when written to a USB stick only uses part of the stick (about 2 GB I think) Personally I use gparted to extend the main partition to provide a little headroom for the DB files and also because NY default there's not enough space to download the Debian installer if you wa...

Re: Wall Mounting & Power

Yes, if you shutdown there, or for some other reason (eg accidental shutdown) then you cannot boot up with wall mounted device. I was wondering if there was a hardware hack that had been done, or if PoE was another option, or would it even work! When I wall mounted mine I was lucky in that I can st...

No go either, created two primary partitions using gparted as FAT32 and cannot get to the second one in windows. If I install the OS to memory, is there anything i can do to release some space? eg delete the original system or something? I really don't want to use an external drive if I can help it...

I should go back and take another look at the optical-out stuff sometime. Did it ever get written up into a wiki page? I seem to recall it did, it was very very easy to do once I'd got my head round it. Edit to add This is the Wiki, I actually used an optical socket but in a similar location to the...

Re: My cunning plan with Squeezeplay OS

Exactly where I went next. I wiped the entire stick with Gparted, and made it a FAT 32, then installed sqOS using disk imager and no luck. exactly the same. I will try to do the same thing but create 2 volumes using gparted. then install the OS to only one of them. Disc imager will destroy any part...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & sqpOS)

If you've made any manual changes to the audio configuration then this can break the Airplay as it requires alsamixer I believe. When I say break, the Airplay device would still work but you'd get no sound. So long as ALSA is still the main output method, then it'll work with any USB DAC. That's ho...

I have a couple of problems though: 1) I can't play WMA or flac media, and 2) all my Internet radio stations have vanished. Oh! Three problems!! One of my albums is sampled too fast and won't play. 1) To play WMA you'll need to enable the Play WMA plug in on the LMS Web interface. Navigate to joggl...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

You've got a few different options. Personally I'm not a fan of using the internal memory if you are going to be running LMS on the joggler. I figure frequent writes could cause issues on the internal memory. It is possible to install SqPOS on to a USB hard drive with some faffing. Once installed yo...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

Do you want the netbook to be a server, player or both.

If it's to function as a server then something like Vortex box would be ideal, or maybe just install Ubuntu Server and add LMS yourself.

Re: Spotify Mobile now free

No, you still need a premium account to use other devices. Free has simply been extended to cover mobiles and tablets. Additionally the mobile version only allows shuffle play, whereas the tablet version will play individual tracks. Personally I use an app called AOA (Airplay on Android) and the Sha...

Does the Joggler take over from what else is playing currently or do we have to switch to AirPlay RX manually? I have 5 Jogglers now running SqueezePlay OS and none of them shows up on any of my iDevices. All are flashed with roobarb!'s great sqp image on internal storage. What else could we do wro...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

I personally use the DNLA plug in for LMS to stream video to my PS3. I believe XBMC can use a DNLA server as a source.

If you're going to be using XBMC on a Pi then I believe that can also use network shares, so you could install Samba to share the connected drive as a network drive.

Weird and no idea.

I suppose if was a tiny SMD fuse that blew your prodding around could have joined it back together again, if that's the case I'd have thought it will now be sensitive to movement or shocks disconnecting the power?

So at least a major piece of the sink is still there.
I bashed mine flat with a hammer. It did crack slightly on on side but is still in 1 piece.

It may help if you say where abouts you were.
If you were local to me is be happy to have a look if you either dropped it off or came over. However I'd be wary of taking responsibility if posting.

For reference I'm in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

So far while testing "stuff" I have removed the bracket and run the Joggler for hours like this. I will try some benchmarking to see if the temps change that much after days. ... Pete, I'm curious if you did do the benchmarking tests? I'm planning on making a wall mount, it would help if ...
