Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 2) for OpenFrame
Has anyone managed to get the network mount option working in SqueezePlay? I can easily get the NAS mounted using an entry in fstab but no matter what I do I just can't get it working using the GUI. I'm using SMB and have a user name and password setup on the NAS I've also tried on my own Joggler wi...

I've replied to your other post but when you type the password it looks like its doing nothing, just type the password and press enter.

When you type the password it doesn't look like you are. Just type it and press return.

Re: 24/96 Squeezeplay and External USB DAC
I'm not surprised Airplay didn't work. EDO has exclusive access to the sound hardware. I've seen the same happen with manually editing the sound config file myself, unless you use a software mixer then SqueezePlay and Airplay can't both access the sound hardware. It might technically be possible for...

Re: UK tag question?
If the number is a genuine number I believe they're actually Irish. Details on how the UK system for number plates (we don't call them tags) works are here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_the_United_Kingdom%2C_Crown_dependencies_and_overseas_territories The RI of the al...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & sqpOS)
Hello to all I am very new to this and have now converted two O2 Jogglers to be Squeezeplay units connected to my LMS server running as Squeezeplug on a Raspberry PI . Could I ask is there anyway to update the Firmware version of the units ? I know that the LMS update is done on the PI and this is ...

I bet you Pete has one, or at least one with the same hardware and different branding. Google images show one of the devices with the bigger front firing speakers under the screen and possibly a DECT handset.

That does like look like a better solution, wouldn't work for me though as I've removed the WiFi card

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 2) for OpenFrame
Mine appears to have a file in the directory /etc/network
Called joggler-eth with the MAC in it. I don't know if changing the value there and rebooting would work.
I presume if yours uses WiFi then there would be an equivalent file for that (joggler-wifi?)

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 2) for OpenFrame
Exactly this, I've had exactly the same issue. I ended up just doing a 2nd fresh image, but there is a file somewhere you can edit to change the MAC if you'd prefer.

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 2) for OpenFrame
What would be neat is a SqueezePlay menu item to reboot into internal (and a matching menu in the internal install to boot to USB) and maybe a matching reboot to USB applet in PNP [WHITE SMILING FACE]

I just don't understand the point unless its some sort of SEO trickery. Even if I was looking for a kitchen in the area I wouldn't use that company as a matter of principle now, same goes for any spam TBH

Re: NAS with LMS
OTOH I've found unless you have a relatively powerful, preferably x86 based NAS then you can compromise it's utility as a server, things like performance and compatibility with plugins and server side reencoding of formats can be an issue. You already have 3 devices that in my experience are perfect...

Re: Squeezeplay drops audio 10 seconds before end of track
Do you use WiFi or cable? If you're not using the WiFi you can stick your USB key in the internal USB slot that the WiFi card uses. It will happily boot from this leaving the Joggler clean with a spare USB free on the side. Even better you could make a hole on the back for the hub mentioned above to...

Re: Logitech Media Server Install Issue on SqOS
It might depend where Roobarb has it set to download from. I know there's been a fair bit of kicking around with version names and the like over the last few days over on the slim devices forum, I wouldn't have thought that would effect the official version download but you never know.

Re: Logitech Media Server Install Issue on SqOS
Is this using the install LMS option included in SqPOS? Didn't we have a long conversation about manually installing 7.8 while my daughter was in hospital? If that was you I'm thinking of then the same process could be used to install 7.7.3 manually. Get 7.7.3 from here http://downloads.slimdevices....

Re: Enabling SSH and SCP - New Easy Method
I'm using Roobarbs SqPOS so the users may be different, I presume you're on some sort of stock OS? Have you actually had any unauthorised errors when logged in as joggler and running a command that should require root permissions? If the SU and Sudo commands aren't available I'm wondering if they're...

Re: Enabling SSH and SCP - New Easy Method
It depends which user you logon as, personally I use the joggler user then start commands with sudo if necessary.
You could also logon as root then there's no need for sudo, the command su will give root privileges for that session or simply use root as the user name when logging on.
