Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 2) for OpenFrame

What are the useful extras? I had no end of trouble with LMS 7.8, but my music server is an old Mac mini, so perhaps there's more polish on the Linux version. ;) - Tunein radio works without MySB.com - Global gain control for online music and radio, especially handy if you use Replay Gain tags on y...

Re: 24/96 Squeezeplay and External USB DAC

Not sure about your question but just thinking aloud it might be better to do EDO as an extra installable option, maybe in the extra features section with airplay. +1. This seems an excellent suggestion, keeping it simple. There is enough info on the various threads to make a basic installation gui...

Re: Squeezeplay OS and internal Wifi

Found it

This is the thread
http://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1879

And the card is a Netgear WNDA3200.

However I've no idea if the card will work with other OSs or indeed the original OS/PNP3 so I guess it depends on what your plans for this Joggler are.

Re: Squeezeplay OS and internal Wifi

I might have a spare original card. Personally I remove the WiFi on mine and run SqPOS from a USB stick but mounted internally. I'd probably suggest however upgrading to a better one, Roobarb the author of SqPOS has mentioned a specific card in the SqPOS thread and has added the appropriate drivers ...

Re: Breaking free from PC

Have you installed Triodes 3rd Party Spotify plugin? If you're using the Joggler as a player it will let you install the Official App but it won't actually work.

Re: manually install older version of LMS

If you want to use LMS on the Joggler I'd suggest using Roobarbs SqueezeplayOS instead of PNP. Once you do then changing LMS version is as simple as downloading a DEB file and using dpkg -i at the command line. Although SqPOS comes with a built in installer for 7.7.x anyway. ETA I've just had a quic...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 2) for OpenFrame

AFAIK LMS already has support for high res files, the EDO applet adds the extra capability to Squeezeplay.

I'm not 100% convinced LMS needs the patch

Use alsamixer as all one word and you get a GUI to alter levels.

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 2) for OpenFrame

Not tried the YouTube plugin recently but it can be a bit hit and miss last time I used it. Personally I'm finding the optional Airplay support in SqPOS to be a massive boon for playing other stuff to my Joggler/HiFi. YouTube, spotify free and other stuff on my Nexus7 all get played using Airplay an...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 2) for OpenFrame

I've used the Logitech controller myself and I have to say the apps available on Android and iOS are far superior IMO.

You can also use either iOS or Android devices as extra playback devices with the right software.

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 2) for Joggler

Try using an SSH client to log in and type alsamixer at the command line.

You can then change the master volume with the arrow keys. Not sure if it effects an external DAC but worth a go.

Re: Android 4.04 build - now fully working!

Agreed, although I've not tried it on a Joggler yet Squeezeplayer is excellent on my various tablets and phones. There is a 2nd app available that does the same but I've not tried it. There's is another alternative to make use of your LMS which is to make sure LMS has the DNLA plugin enabled and the...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & sqpOS)

Hope someone can help. I have Squeezeplay OS installed on my Joggler on internal flash. Using a Mac Pro as the media server. I have a USB DAC which works very well with all sources. My problem is that Airplay plays via the internal speakers. Is there some simple command or configuration I'm missing...

Re: Android 4.04 build - now fully working!

OK so as a test I added some .m4a files to my library. This is squeeplay running on a Joggler, squeezeplayer running on my Nexus7 and LMS serving the files to both devices running SqPOS. Playback works on both. However on the joggler the more info states it's converted to FLAC however on the Nexus i...

Re: Android 4.04 build - now fully working!

There's no transcoding with flac unless you specify it. Flac is a supported format. Do you have LMS installed on your SqPOS joggler at all? I'm fairly sure LMS on the joggler can transcode aac but I'm not sure if LMS on the NAS will have either the grunt to transcode or the required codecs installed...

Re: Android 4.04 build - now fully working!

Does any clever person know how to get aac files to play? I've contacted the Squeezeplayer dev but he said that because of the need for backward compatibility with earlier versions of Android he could not add it to his app at present. Where do you run your LMS? In theory if a player in a squeezebox...

Re: Smokescreen

Its been a while since I used gparted but do you remember what options you chose when creating the fat partition? Another alternative could be simply expand the Linux partition, you could then either install Samba to share a folder on the network of use WinSCP to copy your music across. IIRC you wer...
