Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
Just noticed an update to build: bul-ext2-1028-43-bullseye-5.10.159op.img.gz 15-Dec-2022 04:54 186M bul-ext2-1028-43-bullseye-5.10.159op.img.gz.md5 15-Dec-2022 04:56 78 Trying that one today on the Openframe 2 box. 1 - copying two above mentioned files to old USB boot stick - rfl-boot/reflash root@I...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
Great news Ronnie!!
Yes I have to do that with current build on the OpenFrame2. It should hopefully work...none the less it only takes about 20 minutes to build it from scratch now....

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
Here is the manual way via command line: 1 - boot up with new partition 2 - ssh to Openframe 3 - sudo nano /etc/fstab 4 - make it look like this: # /etc/fstab: static file system information. # # Use 'blkid -o value -s UUID' to print the universally unique identifier # for a device; this may be used...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
Same here when I have used the script. GParted will not fit with the 1Gb partition. So create an old Ubuntu 14 boot stick and use GParted to extend the partition. You have to boot from a USB hub when you do this so that you can utilize a wireless Keyboard. Not totally sure what JiveLite is. Can I ru...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
Good news! of-expand does not work AT ALL Don't expand it to 2Gb as Squeezeplayer fits fine at 1Gb. OR Boot up with an Ubuntu stick with desktop and use GParted to expand the partition to 2Gb or do it the manual command line way. 1 - https://jwills.co.uk/category/o2-joggler/ 2 - https://www.golinuxc...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
One other issue is that I cannot shut down or reboot via the Squeezeplay menu. I can though logging in via SSH and running the script.
The left top button shuts off the screen which works fine.

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
This time installed a lite desktop and and it all fit fine on the Openframe 2. Ideally a perfect hard mod add would be to use an internally mounted SD card or USB stick leaving the external USB port free. Even soldering a PATA port to the traces on the motherboard would be a tight fit for an SSD car...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
Redoing it again. This time resizing it right away. Then configuring an xrdp desktop that I can remote to and seeing if this all fits on the 2Gb partition. BTW you should replace the old WLAN / Bluetooth card with an "el cheapo" Intel combo bluetooth card. They are around $10 these days. T...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
What "image not recognized"? You are copying both the compressed gz file and md5 file over to your reflash boot stick eh? I did initially only copy the compressed image over and it did not install. Your USB stick may be corrupt. https://birdslikewires.net/download/openframe/images/debian/l...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
OK installed latest version of Bullseye on the Openframe 2. bul-ext2-1028-43-bullseye-5.10.158op Went well. Some steps that I did. 1 - enabled the new Intel WiFi combo bluetooth card. Works well. sudo apt install firmware-iwlwifi sudo modprobe -r iwlwifi sudo modprobe iwlwifi sudo dmesg 2 - configur...

Great news @mikem!!
What kind of DVI plug in did you use? I could never find one small enough to fit on to the motherboard without lifting it up.
What kind of projector are you using?

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
Well thinking that an old version of Bullseye is on the Openframe 2 so will install it new to the 2Gb eMMC in the next couple of days. And tell you how it goes. Just had a look and will mount it... root@openframe:/media# df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on udev 243M 0 243M 0% /dev tmpfs...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
I installed it a while ago on my Openframe 2 box with a Avaya boot flash rom. All of my Jogglers / Openframe boxes now use the Avaya or Seabios boot. The 1Gb and 2 Gb machines would work fine if I did not update them then fail with errors after updating. Gone now to only using USB sticks for Bullseye.

Re: Ubuntu Bionic for OpenFrame
The Openpeak 5VDC power supplies are still available for purchase. For a time here I was using POE power splitters to provide power to the Jogglers. I have 15 Jogglers today running 24/7 and did notice over the years that the power supply / NIC / Audio board was becoming loose. IE: when you plugged ...

Re: axis-tv-1000p
I think that the POE adapters in there are just old. You can maybe fit a TP-Link POE splitter inside if you take it apart. Look for the this one on Amazon: TRENDnet Gigabit PoE Splitter, 1 x Gigabit PoE Input Port, 1 x Gigabit Output Port, Up to 100m (328 ft), Supports 5V, 9V, 12V Devices, 802.3af P...

Re: axis-tv-1000p
Is this using POE adapter or a 12VDC brick?
If it is with the POE adapter then it might be failing and you will want to try a 12VDC laptop power supply.
For replacement of a motherboard then I would look for another Axis-TV-1000p and use that motherboard.

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
What works best for me these days with the Joggler is using "old" Windows embedded (even CE) with old touchscreen overlays (with touchscreen designer software) replacing the original EFI bios with Seabios (X86) and Debian running Squeezeplayer. I have 15 running embedded Windows and 4 runn...

I tried using the Home Assistant web interface using Opera in Linux. It worked but still was slow. Chrome is the slowest.

Re: axis-tv-1000p
After the first fail of the POE adapter on one of these burning up my motherboard I went with just using an external 12VDC brick from Amazon. 5 AMP 5.5mm x 2.5mm 2.1mm 12 VDC Output Jack should work fine for the motherboard. Thinking the LCD display / backlight / side lights utilize more power than ...
