Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Ha! Yes remember the name Acorn! So all of the drivers are there for the Asus Netbook eh? I have a 9xx something Asus with an SSD drive; small screen; great little traveling machine. Are you booting the Asus off a USB drive? I played with assembler on the Commodore 64 around 1981. Concurrently had a...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

"Kika" my parrot is like family these days; having been around so long. I can call her a fussy princess of sorts. Many years ago I took her with me for this or that; she was good; and did sit on my shoulder never really going anywhere. She never really did fly that well cuz she is very bul...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

mickchip, You've made me feel better now around these "youngsters" lol...yes I have a 35 year old parrot (Amazon Blue Crown) and she's been around since almost birth...I hand fed her for a few months with a nose dropper....she hates my wife (think she is jealous- they cuss out each other a...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Happy Birthday Dan! You are my son's age...I was almost 40 when my wife had him....think I was still in school at the age of 23...up until I was almost 30....this was before the "age of computers"; needed to used a slide ruler for my physics classes...back then the finer the lines on the s...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Yes it was 'round 1980 that I was "playing" with lasers; bored; coring apples; neat stuff. I borrowed a helium argon laser on a rail of sorts; maybe two meters long for a bit. It would dim all of the lights in the house. I remember shining it on a water tower a few miles away...fun stuff...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Dan with the glass Capacitance screen; you would only have to bury the Joggler in the wall flush with the screen and it should be pretty water proofed eh?

Very resilent screen being glass and all.

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

The CE TS is just a serial controller form the Russound zoned amplifier. The Russound keypads control the source and volume of the audio. The Joggler on the other hand can be the source of audio or control the audio whether using the Joggler speakers or externally amplified speakers. I wired the hou...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

I'm going to guess that the CE's are probably only 200Mhz CPU's; very primitive in fact. I can update the firmware though with a USB stick and a cold boot. I have the house configured with 12 audio zones and did separate out the bathroom with its own sub amp as I crank the music to wake up sometimes...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

The CE 5.7 inch touchscreens are called OmniTouch and are connected to my HAI OPII alarm combo home automation on steroids alarm panel. http://www.homeauto.com/Products/ConsolesTouchscreens/omnitouch57e.asp They are overpriced at something like $600-1000 USD each; pretty nice foot print though. My w...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

The benchmarking program is very old from the middle 2000's called HD Tach and I noticed that it does good with read speeds but no indications of the write speeds. The program is free today and I believe it used to be a paid program found here: http://www.simplisoftware.com/Public/index.php?request=...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Will do. Outdoors today converting "zones" of outdoor landscaping lamps to LED. One zone done - something like 12 lights from LV Halogen to LED. I did one zone about 2 years ago and haven't changed one LED bulb yet (that one was like 15 lamps). Historically I have used only 7-8-9-12" ...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Buzz, I went to using the USB SSD connected to the Joggler for "production" for my HA system. Waiting some more for the USB SSD drives to come. But I can benchmark performance in the next couple of days with the ZIF drive versus the flash drive relating to XP. So you want to see RW perform...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

I broke the case for the USB SSD; but with some careful prying it looks to just be plastic clips holding it together. The first USB SSD came in a nice metal display case with a plastic window to see the drive. If you go external with a USB connection to the back then maybe check out using a Zif driv...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

I'm still wondering what happened to the 4 USB SSD sticks I ordered. About 2 weeks ago now I got a message about a delay; and nothing yet. The one I did get was well packaged in small metal jewelery like cases. Funny cuz I removed it from its plastic case within an hour of its installation such that...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Yes; 4 Gb for a function XP SP3 OS isn't shabby. Here all functions (computer et al) of the infrastructure of the home are related to WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor). BTW for the Chumbys for USB NIC's I use the Trendnets and those little skinny white with thin cable Apple/Mac USB to Nic devices. Way sm...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

I have identical images running today on the three Jogglers. Two are using external generic 8Gb flash sticks on the side with the WLAN cards inside and one is using the USB SSD stick inside (just the bare bone stick as it wouldn't fit until I busted it out of the case. They are all behaving the same...

Re: Windows Server 2003 RELEASED

Mevi; then you did get the Joggler to work on the network with some fiddling? Yes; with MCE; its not the base OS of XP; but rather the display / other drivers while in MCE that cause some issues. I have a small AOpen mini PC with a quad core that I use for MCE connected to the LCD TV in the family r...
