Re: Electric charge from Joggler
It's caused by poor electrical isolation between the AC and DC components of the transformer. Basically, you're getting a low level of 50Hz AC current passing through you. Harmless (but weird) at low levels, but it can signify a failing transformer, and the last thing you want is pure AC scooting th...

Re: Windows Server 2003 so far
Squeezeplay + squeezebox server Both of these are already available for Windows - the trick will be if you want full screen, as the SqueezePlay interface is hard-coded as skins of set resolutions. The one I maintain for the native OS and Ubuntu-based systems is the full 800x480, but you would need ...

Re: Squeezebox software on a joggler?
While I remember, you can actually install Squeezebox Server for Ubuntu directly from Logitech, rather than having to use PnP. The details are here: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/DebianPackage You add their repository to your /etc/apt/sources.list and then install using apt-get. You can then...

Re: Poll : What OS are you running?
are there any things that you can't do on JoliOS? Also is the squeezeplayer as updated as the one for the native one? Nope, Joli OS is Ubuntu with a different UI on it, so you get all of their web apps as well as access to anything you install locally. Local apps are in a separate folder on the int...

Re: Joggler as Bedsire Alarm Clock Radio
SqueezePlay has an alarm option; I've used it, but I would never completely trust it for the reasons mentioned by gegs!

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)
Quick question... I can't get Napster to work on it. I get an error message - I'll upload the details if that would be helpful. Yes, error messages are handy. I don't use the Napster service though, but it seems a little odd that if you're using the Joggler as a controller (rather than a player) th...

Re: Poll : What OS are you running?
If I get time at some point, I'd like to give JoliOS a bit more of a test. I've messed about with it on the web a little, but I really don't think I've 'clicked' with it yet. But I keep coming back to it... Click! Joli OS is the one for me, I think! More finger-friendly than Ubuntu's Gnome desktop,...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)
Updated to v1.29. Found myself with the VM system I used for compiling switched on next to me, so took the opportunity.
Plus I don't like this thread languishing on page 2.

Re: Joli OS for the O2 Joggler
Have given Joli OS another try today, and it's finally clicked. I wasn't seeing the benefit of what at first appeared like another overlay on top of the normal Ubuntu system, but I've finally twigged that that's not really what's going on. Going to play about with it for a bit, but it seems remarkab...

Hell's teeth. I've done that too, though luckily on a VM (my backup wasn't exactly recent, though).
Count me in for beta testing. You know I like that kind of thing.

Re: Ubuntu 11.10 / Oneiric Ocelot
I've been having a play with Oneiric and thought that there were some changes in Unity 2D that really leant themselves to a touch display. However, there are certainly some aspects of it that are troublesome; massively oversized, non-scaling icons anyone? Why they couldn't have made that launcher fi...

Re: Best OS on joggler for skype, radio, music
I would say Ubuntu or Joli OS, definitely. Both are stable, feature-complete on the Joggler and well supported here and in their own off-Joggler worlds. If you've not got to grips with Ubuntu, try it on a desktop for a little while to get used to the way things work. Makes it much easier to explore,...

Re: Little App Launcher
Great work roobarb! The app launcher sounds great... is there a way to get your app launcher to work within the ubuntu 11.04 environment ? via this method... <removed> This way we could run even more 'apps' via 'the Tango frontend' keeping the look and feel of the joggler... I'd recommend the bindi...

Re: Messaging tone disappears after PnP (orig OS)
Oh my word. I've just solved it kind of. It was because I'd replaced the icon with a different one. Restoring the original icon.swf restored full messaging notification. How bizarre! Any idea why this might be the case? That is bizarre. Can't think why that would have happened, unless something was...
