Re: Tiny CLI Linux
I guess the "smallest" way would be a little initial ramfs with just a few tools, drivers and stuff you need. You could have a look at how ubuntu builds its initramfs and work from there perhaps. or maybe something like "linux from scratch" might help. Thanks, BuZz, I'll take a ...

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
Version 1.03 should be up now. Not had chance to checksum it on the server tho, so fingers crossed it's okay.
This version brings NVRAM zapping and moves the flashing script to make upgrades easier in the future.

Tiny CLI Linux
Hello all, I would like some advice. I've put together the Joggler recovery tool, but it would be nice if people didn't have to download 230MB worth of Ubuntu Server to use it. So, does anyone have any recommendations for a really lightweight CLI-based Linux that I could use to do the same as the Jo...

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
Just done this using the Windows instructions all recovered, except the bleeping joggler still goes into the "Updates have finished, will now reboot" loop. https://sites.google.com/site/placetodumpstuff/home/JogglerScreen.jpg This comes up after I ran the reflasher, and was in the process...

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
My Joggler said that the reflashing process was complete so I powered off, removed the flash drive and powered on and its still just freezes on the 02 boot screen. Does this mean it hasn't/won't work or do I just need to use a better flash drive? Did the reflash sections complete successfully? Ther...

Re: best approach for putting a headsink/cooling?
I'd second that. If you want to use the original casing, I'd definitely just increase the throttling temperature rather than hack up the case. There's really no need to do that. BuZz has instructions on all of his image download pages under 'Overheating / Throttling issues'.

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)
Thanks Roobarb! Purged and reinstalled and it seems to be working great. Slight curiosity fyi is that two Squeezeplay entries appear in the application list.. If you look closely, one will say 'Squeezeplay' and the other will say 'SqueezePlay'. The latter is the one installed by my script, while th...

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
I have followed all of the instructions and my Joggler is displaying 'Stalling for network..' and has been for some time. Is this normal? That's normal if you've got no wired internet connection to your Joggler or it has not received an address by DHCP. You'll need to add the reimage file to the US...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)
There's one bug I've discovered in Natty, where it won't allow you access to a password protected Squeezebox Server for some reason. Other than that, it's working. Ah! The result of a silly error. I mistakenly ran SqueezePlay as root, which created a settings folder the normal user couldn't write t...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)
I tried installing on the last Ubuntu image (1.9) and now on 1.10, and whenever I go to run it, on a completely fresh image, the resolution changes (top and bottom bar disappear anyway) and then it just remains on the desktop. Any idea whats happening? Well, that's not right. Will test it on v1.10 ...

Are you planning on rolling this out for Maverick too? Natty is just too buggy for me at the moment.
Maybe I should get in on this JoliOS everyone seems to like these days?

Re: Dead Joggler
Thanks dwl99. But first i have to be able to boot to ubuntu which doesn't work, I've tried all available versions of ubuntu but it still doesn't get past the screen with openpeak text. Normally when the joggler is booting ubuntu, the openpeak text lights up but mine doesn't even go that far. :( Oh....

Re: Dead Joggler
It involves desoldering & removing chips from the printed circuit board then flashing them. It's not a job for a novice. You will probably end up just using your Joggler as a doorstop. Actually, there's no soldering involved where it comes to the EFI chip - it's removable. I'm not convinced thi...
