Re: Just bought my first Joggler! - What should I do with it (Squeeze Player Controller is top priority)

It will run fine except for having 1 gb of playspace unless you utilize a boot usb stick and video will not be that good. I have a few hardware customized Openpeak 1's with 16 gb ssd mostly running windows embedded and one running Ubuntu 18 with a 64 gb ssd card and an rtc clock wired in. I might ha...

Re: Just bought my first Joggler! - What should I do with it (Squeeze Player Controller is top priority)

BTW did get Kodi running sort of well on the Openframe 2 with 2Gb of internal OS space and a fitted Crystal HD card running Ubuntu 14.XX way long time ago.

Plex client would work better with same setup drivers running Ubuntu 14.X maybe.

Re: Just bought my first Joggler! - What should I do with it (Squeeze Player Controller is top priority)

Yes here do not record much these days with MythTV. I have been on the forum for many many years ..pete_c or petec there.... Always more in to DBS satellite here. Had a 3 meter dish way long time ago connected to a Houston Tracker 8. Got in to DBS here and purchased a Nexus satellite card for my the...

Re: Just bought my first Joggler! - What should I do with it (Squeeze Player Controller is top priority)

Good news DamianS. You might want to write a new NIC ROM to your built in O2 Joggler. Note that the O2 Joggler came with a blank NIC ROM. If you write a ROM to the NIC then you can put the O2 to sleep and wake it up remotely (if you leave the power cable plugged in). Using a Russound zoned audio sys...

Re: Just bought my first Joggler! - What should I do with it (Squeeze Player Controller is top priority)

@DamianS

Saw the same here doing my O2 Joggler for Squeezeplay use.

It might be some buffer or read / write issue on doing the update.

Skip the update step and try again.

Re: Just bought my first Joggler! - What should I do with it (Squeeze Player Controller is top priority)

Is that bad/worse? No. 1 - There is the Openpeak O2 Joggler 2 - There is the Openpeak 1 3 - There is the Openpeak 2 #2 and #3 where used by the telcos (had built in DECT for said use) and where used by the energy sector and had built in Zigbee to monitor electric and thermostat stuff. The O2 Joggle...

Re: Just bought my first Joggler! - What should I do with it (Squeeze Player Controller is top priority)

Welcome to the Joggler forum @DamianS. Did you get the Openpeak device with the two speakers in the front or the one with the speakers in the back? Squeezeplayer works the best on the Jogglers with 1Gb of OS space. Kodi did work OK on the Openpeak devices with 2Gb of OS space during the Ubuntu 14.X ...

Re: Plex Media Player for OpenFrame

Just another side note.... I was working on two of the original O2 Jogglers (not Openframe - these are labeled Jogglers). Both booted with an O2 logo ROM. Sometime in my rewriting of the Emmc I bricked them both to only show the O2 Logo. I put the old Ubuntu 14.X boot stick in and keyboard and did t...

Re: Plex Media Player for OpenFrame

So it works for music but the GUI much slower than Squeezebox player. I did install a Plex server years ago and removed it after a bit. Typically only use my cell phone (unlimited data et al) when out of the house and off when home. Don't watch videos or stream live video on my tablets / phones. My ...

Re: Plex Media Player for OpenFrame

Rewrote the OF2 partition with current image and updated it. Note with this OF2 had a running current desktop on the 2Gb partition. I have another one here which is an OF1 running new Ubuntu from the built in 16 Gb SSD drive which I may test later. The expand script sudo of-expand looks like it work...

Re: Plex Media Player for OpenFrame

OK so looked at one OF that I had configured with Squeezeplayer and redoing it. Got the PCie to SATA/USB card from Russia yesterday. First time I have ever ordered anything from Russia. Checked out the mini PCiE to SATA card. It has no chips on it and just wires to connect to a SATA drive. It must b...

Re: Plex Media Player for OpenFrame

Here installed Plex server on my current combo MythTV and LMS server. I also ordered a mini PCiE SATA (not mSATA) and USB card. Only thing the card has are bare leads to go to an SSD drive. Ordered it from Russia and it appears that I may be the card before the end of the year. Meanwhile will try th...

Re: Dans XP 2003

The USB Boot version worked fine with the EFI boot rom. Switching to using Seabios you do not need to use the USB boot stuff. Just install XP ISO on a boot stick and install it to the SSD card.

Yes today using an Octocore S912 chip set for running Linux Kodi at home. Works great with 4K.

Re: Dans XP 2003

Still using an embedded XP tweaked image on my OF1's here. Works the best here with MS SAPI / touchscreen interface and remote controllable from a Windows server now running in a Virtual box running on Ubuntu. Tried Windows 8.1 embedded yesterday. Works but slow. Logged in to MS account and it dropp...

Re: Writing a MAC address to Joggler NIC

Hello @Andrew1971, Weird here posted a step by step response yesterday and do not see it today. LS is lower case ls and is the same as dir in windows. It is easiest to boot in to a dos boot stick. Before you can do that though you have to write the seabios rom to the joggler rom. I have put both rom...
