Re: Domotics for dummies
Hello Pete, I was out for times, I worked to others things.. At the end I was not able to use xAP for my automation, too different. So we decided to write a new software for this. We created the "multibutton" sofware that works great under a generic Linux OS. Also the OpenPeak can run it, ...

I don't remember, do we have a "captcha" on this forum for registering new users? This should be enough to stop spiders and robots!

uhm, I think spammers are not very smart... how do you think a spam will work if you write in Russian in a UK site?!?!?!
They are just bugging but they will not have any benefit for doing this... strange people...

Re: Looking for power adapter.
Hello guys, as we talk in another post, you can use safely a generic 5V power supply with at least 2A. I normally use "non original" adapter with a lot of Jogglers and I have no problem (I bought a stock of Jogglers for a good price but without power supplies). Just check the polarity (pos...

Re: Which Linux distro?
Hello, I can suggest Xubuntu, it's ok for a old pc and the XFCE4 GUI is nice and confortable. You can add whatever you want on the desktop and create menubars like Windows style.
I don't use Mint, I use Ubuntu with Gnome shell (not Unity) but it's really heavy and it is not good for a old pc!

If you read carefully you can have all the info you need, it's linux based but there's a step by step guide will allow you to do easely:

anyway, if you have any doubt just ask!

Re: old hand to joggler, newbie to this and openpeak!
Hello, don't forget you can easely remove all the apps you don't like/need, I did the same, infact on a couple of jogglers I have, I kept only five or six icon on the dashboard!

Pete me too I prefer the medium one for 119$, it seems complete and not very expensive! I'm not an expert but the 79 seems really poor!

Re: Domotics for dummies
Hi Pete, thanks for answering me! The fact is I don't have any I/O hardware than the TRXRFX433. It's connected to a RPI with Domoticz (that's becaming always better). I see Domoticz can receive json query to drive switches, infact with a simple "curl" or a "wget" (obviously with ...

Re: Domotics for dummies
Maybe I understand, it's a flash limitation, so I must use iserver (infact I was interrogating me why there's an additional layer for communication).
So I'll look deeper in iserver! Sorry for my stupid question!

Re: Domotics for dummies
Hello, yesterday I was playing with xAP, I tryed to let it communicate with my devices, (just a simple web server!), I'd really like to know if there is a way to use xAP to send a http request when I press a button! I created a button with the standard code: <button NAME="testing button"> ...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler
Never trash anything :) I restored a old Lacie Edmini v2 (network device with a 512GB SATA disk), I hacked it to enable ssh and nfs, and now I can have a good NFS library for playing mp3s from Joggler! The process is quite simple (it take 10minutes of work), I don't want to bug anyone, if someone's ...

Re: Screen cracked - any suggestions?
Hello, me too, I have a cracked screen, maybe it was hit during deliver, it was a non boxed joggler. Luckly mine is better, it has just a crack crossing from the right side to the bottom, it crosses all the display, but touch screen works and display view is ok, so it's just a "estetic" pr...
