Picture of my setup
Hi everyone; I like the XP-Nav system so much in my car, I wanted to share a picture. I removed the Joggler stand (So far, heat dissipation is no problem) and the system sits snuggly rigtht in front of the gear shift - very good visibility from the drivers seat. Also, a note regarding crashes when c...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Reg. How fast does the GPS / NTP program sync the time when booting? The program is really quick - it takes maybe 1 or 2 seconds. (The nice thing about the GPS dongle is that it reports time already before it has all sattelites locked for the location - so really no delay in the bootuptime) Reg. The...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
... Once I get permanent power sorted for my van I am going to use my Joggler but I a pretty sure I'll still have the same issue as you , let us know if the giant capacitors work for you . ..... The capacitors work good, so far. Also, my startup skript (bat file) works nice - with this, the system ...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
... There are a few differences between the O2 Jogglers and the Openpeak devices. Outside it is just the embedded on plastic logo. The O2's have an O2 on the plastic and the Openpeak has Openpeak on the plastic. Inside the Openpeak uses a metal heatsink across the entire motherboard. The small Jogg...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Just tried the XP nav SeaBios and no good for me either , first tried with a Lexar 32 GB and it comes up with the XP boot up screen saying there has been a power down and XP will re boot in 30 seconds , if you leave it , it hangs and never boots , just the XP screen with the bar So then I tried it ...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
.... I never would have thought of using a large capacitor for suspend mode on the Joggler. ..... Just so there is no misunderstanding: I use these not for suspend mode, but to filter out powerglitches, i.e. due to cranking the engine. Common situation: Joggler/IGO is running and you need to stop f...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
By the way: I found on this site a nice little (500kB!) program, which uses the time from the GPS dongle to adjust the PC time. It works, so the IGO knows when its day or night and sets the map color accordingly automatically. (It only adjusts time - not date) https://www.coaa.co.uk/gpstime.htm I wi...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
This is odd - the images do not fit on any of my 8GB sticks - therefor I use a 16GB stick I am seeing a 4.7Gb partition on the 8Gb stick right now. ...... Windows 10 is written such that you can boot via USB stick just fine if you want to try that instead of the EFI XP boot. 1) The >8GB issue could...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
OK see an issue here writing mickchip's image using imagewriter to a USB stick. Really not much of an issue though. Here is my testing base Openpeak (same seabios boot). Note got it to boot with Mickchip's newest seabios image on a USB stick. ..... Thank you for your help, pete! However - still no ...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Thank you pete for your feedback. Unfortunately, I tried (with Mickchips help) already most of what you stated (-> I tried everything you listed and which is possible w/o hardware mods.) Mickchip provided even an altered image (w/o EFI boot and changed system files) - it provided the same errors on ...

I repeat myself, but thank you to all the active people in this thread - especially mickchip providing img's & troubleshooting help. But..... I still can not get XP via Coreboot to start properly. And I am desperately trying, because it starts SO MUCH FASTER then via the std. boot system - when ...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Yes - a prebuild image would be really great, if possible.... As I said - I am out of ideas. Also, on a side-note: Did anybody try to have the Joggler running in the car while starting it? In my setup it reboots when I start the car, problably due to voltage fluctuations. I added already a ferrite c...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Here's how to make mev_nav run on Coreboot/Seabios Put the stick in your PC and load Minitool partition wizard. Delete the EFI partition on the USB stick. Assign a drive letter to the NTFS partition ( so you can read it in your PC ) On the root of the NTFS partition rename ntldr to ntldr.efi & ...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
I think it must be something at your end, I have now tested it on five EFI jogglers and then deleted the EFI partition, changed the joggler specific files to original and tested on two coreboot / seabios jogglers. All of them work OK. Hi Mickchip; reading through the thread, I found the above quote...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
There are two versions of the backlighting program. I have attached most recent one. However - I can ...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
I want to say thank you again to mickchip, pete & hawsay! Returned yesterday from a 1200km trip - where this system (still xp version) lead me (almost) perfectly. In the beginning, it lost connection to the GPS a couple of times (not weak GPS signal - it lost connection to the dongle), but that ...
