Re: SqueezePlay for OpenFrame
Hi roobarb! ... I hope I am not going on your nerves with my feedback on tiny issues..... So - you fixed the CCH issue - it works perfect now after triggering the update! But I noticed something odd with LCD brightness: I have the brightness set pretty low (20%). When I switch SqueezePlay off (with ...

Re: SqueezePlay for OpenFrame
I am using the custom clock helper (CCH) plugin (along with superdatetime) and it does not work (which it did with your old SqueezePlayOS) ... Any ideas? ...It may be that something was broken in v7.8, but the Squeezebox / Slim Devices forums would be a better place to ask - I know the operating sy...

I am using the custom clock helper (CCH) plugin (along with superdatetime) and it does not work (which it did with your old SqueezePlayOS) ... Any ideas? I'm very light on the plugins (only Spotty and iPlayer here) so I'm really not up to speed with this side of SqueezePlay. It may be that somethin...

Re: SqueezePlay for OpenFrame
Thanks again, roobarb! I'm getting closer.. The above seems fixed. One little other problem: I am using the custom clock helper (CCH) plugin (along with superdatetime) and it does not work (which it did with your old SqueezePlayOS) This needs to be installed both as a plugin on the LMS server as wel...

Re: SqueezePlay for OpenFrame
So, I have it all set up. But somehow, jive_alsa goes after a couple of minutes to 100% CPU load (as seen by top)
(I have also LMS running on the Joggler - as well as running it as an AP)
Chills image - which is based on your bionic image (setup in the same way) does not do that.

Thanks, roobarb!
(Wrt my problem mounting my NAS - that was related to my setup:
I had another Joggler running in my network and somehow the system got confused by its presence.... When I shut that one down, NAS access works as described)

Re: SqueezePlay for OpenFrame
Hey everyone, Another rapid post; having used it myself for the past week or so, after a five year interlude I think it's time for SqueezePlay v7.8 . You will need the latest Ubuntu Bionic image on a USB stick or the image file downloaded onto the Reflash System for writing to internal memory. Fire...

Access Point for Ubuntu Bionic for OpenFrame
I got it finally to work.... It was quite the puzzle, as I found nothing on the web, which describes it consistently in 1 post. So, I posted a how to here: https://askubuntu.com/a/1222475/1060413 The only additional thing to do after following the above generic instructions to work for this image, i...

still help needed to setup AccessPoint...
I am a step further understanding the problem - still can not fix it due to lack of knowlege :( The problem seems to be that Ubuntu 18.04 uses 'netplan' for networing stuff, whereas earlier Ubuntus use 'ifupdown'. Googling shows that all attemtps building a reliable accesspoint on Ubuntu 18.04 with ...

Can someone help / have a look?
... still banging my head against the wall with setting up an access point on this distro. I moved back to the method used in SQPOS installing hostapd and bridge-utils following these instructions: Only additional thing to be done is 'systemctl unmask hostapd' and 'systemctl enable hostapd'. That ma...

Re: Ubuntu Bionic for OpenFrame
I am a longtime user of SPOS (with LMS on the Joggler) It worked perfectly over the years - thank you, Roobarb! Unfortunately, recently some problems due to outdated IO::Socket::SSL and Net::SSLeay came up. Furthermore, it was pointed out that the image is vulnerable to heartbleed. So, I want to upd...

Re: Daylight clock no longer working
Yes, I noticed as well. I think its the dreaded http vs https issue If you add the 's' in your browser, it works. However, if you update the adress it in the custum clock helper, it still does not work. Probably, because the system does not understand https in that context. Bummer. I really liked it...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame
Guys. The creator of the Shairport Plugin was so kind to built a plugin Version for the Joggler! So, when you run SqueezplayOS with LMS on the Joggler and want to use a 'real' Squeezebox as an Airplay speaker - install his plugin and thats it! Thanks to Philippe - and of course Roobarb! All further ...

Question for Roobarb - how to install Crypt::OpenSSL::RSA
I have running my Joggler for years reliably as a squeezebox as well as my main LMS server. Thanks again to Roobarb for this ecxellent built! Now, I have a little problem: I would like to use the plugin Shairtunes to be able to use all connected Squeezeboxes also as Airspeakers. There are 2 problems...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
I run a script as the Joggler boots in to XPe here...and time it all with the R2 startup delayer...which is free..and I delay the script launch for 5 seconds after booting...and you can then also start iGo after a bit like 7 seconds... So then the script is edited...for only the date.. @echo off RE...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Here run Tardis. Set Tardis to be a service and get the time from the GPS. I run a boot up script to sync the time and date after seeding a date/time. @echo off time 15:05 date 1/03/2015 net stop "Tardis time service" PING 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 15000 > NUL net start "Tardis time service&qu...

Re: Satelite Navigation on the Joggler
Just tried both ways and mine does exactly the same, I then wrote is as is and put another partition on the stick and that seems to work OK (when XP loads I can see the other partition), may be try rewriting the mbr from partition wizard. Today, finally the new USB stick arrived (thank you Hawsey f...
