Re: Joggler unable to run many OS images
Hi there Thanks for the details - but it looks like this one (of my several Jogglers) is even more obtuse than yours. It will reflash from Roobarbs tool fine, but won't install (eg) the original O2 firmware on the same pendrive It also won't run the OpenPeak flasher too las you suggest. However it w...

Re: Joggler unable to run many OS images
Hi there Hi Chonker, ... [On the other hand, if like me you have a fussy Joggler, why not give PnPIII a go? That installed OK for me on both Jogglers. Though you did say you wanted a Linux OS...] I have a Joggler which may be behaving similarly to yours ... although I have previously installed PnP I...

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
Hi there (roobarb? ;-) this is a bit of a half-question, until I get a bit more info... I have been doing a bit of H/W hacking on one of my Jogglers - connecting to two of the otherwise unused internal USB ports, as described eg. here: http://www.jogglerwiki.com/wiki/Additional_USB_Ports I've added ...

Re: positioning of new USB port: Wireless antenna on PCB?
Hi Pete I think we've been talking at cross-purposes slightly - though to good effect. It was the PCB trace highlighted in the following image I was worried about: http://www.nicorp.co.uk/download/joggler_usb2_pcb.jpg Having had a closer look again at the Joggler and reminded myself of the separate ...

Re: positioning of new USB port: Wireless antenna on PCB?
Hi Pete, thanks for your reply Personally (note this is my opinion); no. Just to be clear - no as in, mounting a USB connector in that place will not compromise wireless reception? I have now "wired" most of my Jogglers (maybe 8 of them) with an internal USB port (wires though not physical...

positioning of new USB port: Wireless antenna on PCB?
Hi All I'm finally getting around to a project I've been meaning to do for a while ... fitting a second (...third...) USB port to one of my Jogglers. I've got some USB sockets and have been hacking my case a bit, using information given in a couple of places, both on this site and elsewhere: http://...

Re: PnP III: Enhance the standard OS - Download v3.101 here!
Sometime ago, after offbeatdave updated PnP III to include the shutdown script and icon (thanks!), he (I think) asked for information about any flash memory corruptions when using the shutdown script. I think I can report a couple oc cases. However, in both cases the problem does not, I think, occur...

offbeatdave, roobarb!, Leonardo Hey, you're confusing me with a guy who knows something about linux !!! Don't forget everything I know about it I learnt from this forum. Obviously keen to learn but would be grateful for more pointers or any other suggestions about how to keep my PnPIII Joggler aliv...

Re: PnP III: Enhance the standard OS - Download v3.048 here!
Hi Dave
Thanks for that - I saw that file and its contents but (esp. considering the name) wasn't sure if that was its purpose.
I will have a play as you suggest. A pity I didn't grab a copy of the file before the need for reflashing...

Re: PnP III: Enhance the standard OS - Download v3.048 here!
Slight update - I think the icons are held in /media/appshop/applications.xml - but this files does not seem to specify the order/positioning, which is what I'm after.
Thanks, J^n

Re: PnP III: Enhance the standard OS - Download v3.048 here!
Pretty simple question here - can anyone point me at the location of the (xml?) file which specifies the number and order of Joggler icons shown when running PNP III? i have had to reflash my Joggler a couple of times recently. Since I prefer a different layout of icons I spend too long faffing with...

Re: PnP III: v3.045 released
Thanks for the clock screensaver update, it's great. I don't want to sound ungrateful but I like the simplicity (and the BIGNESS) of the original clock without the date. Would it be possible to have the choice of both versions as a screensaver? I know ... you can't have your cake and eat it. But if...

Re: New OpenPeak firmware update (30th April 2012)
Yes. The original instructions also said so if I remember correctly. to me, there's a difference between 'capable of being left on 24/7' (ie. low power, standby operation, etc.), and 'may fail if not left on 24/7' (ie. if switched off periodically). I think the former was implied; if it's the latte...

Re: New OpenPeak firmware update (30th April 2012)
Hi Dave I think that too many power on/off cycles can eventually corrupt the internal memory. Some Jogglers seem more robust than others too. Thanks - yeah, it seems that way. FWIW I remembered to fish out my mains Power Meter when reflashing this time. It looks like the PSU draws around 9W in gener...

Re: New OpenPeak firmware update (30th April 2012)
Hi all hijacking the thread slightly perhaps, but i'mnot sure if it's worth starting another one for this... My PNP III Joggler now fails to boot - it sits there at the OpenPeak logo. It's the second time this has occured in a couple of months. I'm resigned to reflashing etc, but I am a bit concerne...

Re: Audio Line-out
What did you think of the USB sound card? How much has it improved the audio from your Joggler? I think mine are a vast improvement, even the cheap sound card on my kitchen Joggler, but it would be good to hear what others think. It's already a great improvement on what it was. I've still got it fe...

Re: New OpenPeak firmware update (30th April 2012)
New issue, sigh... is there a difference between the old and new photos & videos apps? I had some .flv files, copied from a USB drive, on my original PnP joggler. Now neither an O2-upgraded nor a PnP II joggler will read the files from a USB drive. I'm going to try a different drive, but I'm pre...

Re: O2: Updating O2 Joggler on 30th April
FWIW, my Joggler has just tonight updated itself. Annoyingly, this is the one which (I thought) I have guarded against upgrade via modifying the /etc/hosts file. So be warned, it looks like that doesn't work?! Like some others, I was left with iPlayer and Squeezebox apps on the ... third ... screen....
