Re: release: jogglerxp foshiz edition (image up)plus revised
Its hit or miss with the USB sticks, USB hubs and USB HDD's. I just purchased a "quick" 8 Gb USB stick and it didn't work. So far the best luck has been with a 1.8" IDE to USB device connected to a 4 port hub with additional USB wireless keyboard/mouse, wired LAN, Sound power USB thin...

Re: release: jogglerxp foshiz edition (image up)plus revised
Thank you Dan. Its hit or miss on the writing of the image to a USB stick. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. I did get one good write to a 16Gb microsd card. I was able to see the two partitions created with GParted. It would not boot via the USB hub and did boot to XP once. The touchsc...

Re: release: jogglerxp foshiz edition (image up)plus revised
Dan, Downloaded the image this morning again. Looked like a good download; took a couple of hours or so (didn't pay attention). Wrote the image on a couple of sticks. Checked sticks with Gparted and it still not showing any partitions; just showing unallocated for the partition type. The image write...

Re: release: jogglerxp foshiz edition (image up)plus revised
My pixel shift is on the top piece of the screen; which is odd considering everyone else's is on the bottom of the screen.
The Touchscreen application window size though is same size as the screen. I will paste a grid on the and see how it looks.

Re: release: jogglerxp foshiz edition (image up)plus revised
No clipping on audio (except its coming out of the earphone jack); plays HD/DiVx fine. I don't understand what you mean about the "screen fill"? It's a weird hodgepodge image and reboots every time; although USB stuff is still there. I did notice that Adobe leaves pieces of OCX, DLL's and ...

Re: release: jogglerxp foshiz edition (image up)plus revised
OK; will give it another try.
BTW - here's a quickie video I did of the other setup; which I have a bit tweaked some; still though an issue with USB boot stuff...but only playing with it.

Re: release: jogglerxp foshiz edition (image up)plus revised
Dan, Downloaded the image last night and tried to install it this morning. I'm not sure; but I think its corrupted. I can see the EFI partition on XP but when I put the USB stick in the Linux machine; the partition appears to be corrupted. I tried the image on a variety of sticks that I have; all wi...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)
Will wait for the new version. Excellent "stuff" Dan. A first for a truely multifunction, multiOS great little device called the Joggler. Only adding .net and flash on the base. Found out that SpeedFan actually loads a low level sys driver which plays too much at boot time. May install som...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)
That's what I thought; so its better to run it fresh removing all of the USB configuration files or reregister the USBBOOT such that you have a new serial number eh? I did a few videos; rebooting about 3-4 times with the "quick speeds" then after I tweaked a bit; newest boot went to the &q...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)
Did you use the USB boot program? I was thinking that the checks and writes that the USB boot program was doing with the drivers; also the USB boot program was shutting off the drivers cache was what was causing the slow down after a couple of boots. An FYI on the new image. I took the original imag...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)
Dan,
What did you change such that the paging file worked?
Do you see the NIC card coming up? Does it show cable unplugged? Does it lock up when you plug in a NIC card?

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)
Thanks Dan. The issue with the embedded NAS W2003 image is that its from my purchased W2003 (years ago) NAS box; which I still upgrade and is registered with MS. The primary build is still embedded in the flash rom of the NAS; such that I could rerun it from a serial connection as it has no monitor ...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)
Good news Dan. Was playing with that last night. Another thing I noted is that the NIC card was seen with the NIC cable unplugged. When I plugged it in; it would lock up the Joggler. If I boot with the NIC card cable in; the NIC is enabled but not seen by the OS as its still getting a DHCP address; ...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)
Great news Dan! Better than my progress so far.... Here I tried the following - - created a 1 partition Fat32 USB drive - made it bootable and active - installed the USB boot program - tested it to be fine booting into windows (using my Asus901A) - moved custom ntdetect.com and ntldr to root drive c...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)
So found some quickie directions to make an XP WinPE USB dongle on an XP machine. 1. Download a copy of HxD (http://mh-nexus.de/hxd/) 2. Format your USB Flash drive in XP: format x: /fs:fat (where x: is your USB UFD)\ 3. Open HxD, Click Extras -> Open Disk (Uncheck "Open as Readonly") and ...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)
Dan, I haven't played in years with it. If you give me a step by step on what you are doing. I also have VM's running here; but would rather test in vivo. Additionally have numerous build kits for XPE; but again its been a few years. (although did do a quickie build last year on a new Atom D510). Be...

Re: release: xp on joggler foshiz edition (image up)
Here's something that I am using on the Asus 900A multiboot laptop I have. Works fine for me for XP RAM. But I have 2Gb of Ram in the machine, SSD and SD booting stuff.
Its very old and its "roots" are in embedded MS.
I got this originally from the EEEPC Asus website forum.
