Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)
Decided to bite the bullet and reflash the joggler using roobarbs method, one quirk with Explorer 9 is that it modifies the tgz file which is why I couldn't reflash previously. Aware of that now and following the forum instructions to re-boot. Will then have a go at perl/squeezeplayer/squeezebox in ...

Re: Wont power on - easy fix?
One of mine had the same problem. Possible it has been subjected to a 12 volt power supply instead of 5V. There is an internal fuse, one of the contributors sorted mine out for me. denisP, drop him a message and see what he thinks. It may not be the case, and it could be completely trout. If it's ch...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)
The plot thickens.... I installed Squeezebox server using the instructions on the web page below. http://longpress.org/2010/11/05/squeezebox-server-on-a-budget/ One issue with Win 7 automatically changing the file from .tgz to .gz so it wouldnt upload the tarball, but got round that by using firefox...

Power Supplies
As myself and youg Den now have internally modified Jogglers, I am going to look at the power supply arrangements. I think two projects. One to power the Joggler from the PC PSU, and splitting the supply into 5V and 12V using the standard connector, using a spare 5 inch bay to hard wire a switch and...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)
IP address is standard, and used by the PNP webserver, which works fine on the normal access but doesn't work on the squeezebox setting with the 9000 port adress added. Maybe it's a Windows 7 thing, or Norton blocking it? The other thing I was thinking is that I tried to install the Gforum squeezepl...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)
Just tried safari as well in case it is a Windows 7 issue... Safari delivers the message below. Safari can’t open the page “http://192.168.1.65:9000/” because Safari can’t connect to the server “192.168.1.65”. Explorer 9 gives the error after using the diagnose option... The remote device or resourc...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Standalone Native and Ubuntu)
I have managed to get Squeezeplay running fine, and am trying to load the squeezebox server so I can put some tunes onto a Compact flash (is wired in to the internal USB vis a USB/SDCard reader and more or less flush with the case) Squeezebox server is running on the PC and Squeezeplay picks it up O...

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
Been playing around a bit more, used the bash script for PMJ, everything came up as indicating OK, but still goes through the boot sequence, the I have date and time top right, and the home icon top left. The home icon dims when you touch it which implies the touchscreen is active, and after the rel...

Re: Reflashing Tool for the O2 Joggler
I have had a go at this as I installed Squeezeplayer, a version with no icon, then removed and re-installed the version with icon. All I was left with was the home button top left on boot which did not do anything. So I attempted the reflashing tool. All goes on stick via Win32 Disk Imager, no probl...

Squeezeplay and Squeezeserver On Joggler
Notice that there are quite a few artocles with regard to Splay and Sbox... IS it possible to put both on one machine so it "serves itslef as it were? Myself and a colleague have just carried out one of the hardware mods, I have two jogglers, one which now has an internal microsd card on the in...

Re: know the perfect small working joggler altOS usbstick?
Busbi from Argos, you can hardly see it. Sticks out about 5 mm. I use one in the car as my Alpine has a front USB slot... 4, 8 and 16 gig available, and I think you could get them even cheaper online.

The Busbi ones from argos are superb, extremely small, you can probably get them cheaper mail order/tinternet. I use one in my car stereo as it is a front loading USB port, and you hardly see it...

Flash Memory
How much of a job is it to replace the flash memory then? Not a starter unless you have access to some pretty good desoldering kit?

Re: Best USB stick for Joggler?
Those Busbi sticks from Argos are quite good, extremely small and you don't even notice them when plugged in. I use one in the Alpine stereo in the motor, as the USB port is on the front, as a normal stick is too long, and prone to twatting when getting a bout of road rage.

Re: Deleting Apps And Icons
Having a go at restoring my mates joggler now, tried the above and it craps out due to a write error, repeated to make sure it wasnt random. Went to the restore partitions thread and downloded up to the third image on that, and that failed on lack of space. Just reformatted the partitions using gpar...

Thanks very much for your assistance, got a USB hub and plugged a keyboard in as well as the Ubuntu USB Stick. Just flashed it up and orignal factory reset restored. Also loaded the gparted in as well, and all 4 partitions were there. Points to note for anyone else restoring: wget http://dl.dropbox....

Re: Deleting Apps And Icons
Just been doing a quick read up and play with linux via putty, quite straightfoward to navigate to the directories, remove files using rm -f*, cd back up and rmdir. Not much different to DOS, it has removed the icons and apps, but now boots into CBeebies, which was the last app I removed. I am guess...
