Re: Squeezebox Touch for 153.00GBP

Yes, I alternate between Ubuntu & the native OS but I found that the native OS was a bit quicker & more finger-friendly. I have a right-angled USB lead so the size of the memory stick (I use an SD card in a card reader) isn't an issue. Jolicloud would have been almost as good if Squeezeplay could ha...

Squeezebox Touch for 153.00GBP

I'm mighty tempted by the offer of a Squeezebox Touch (blemished box) at the Logitech website http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/736/7348?ci=0 using the code bjmwq6gby It's 169.00GBP but there is a potential 9% back with Quidco which makes it around 153.00GBP. This might sound like heresy but I've been g...

Dead Joggler

After repeated bouts of needing to be reflashed cos of a failure to boot, one of my Jogglers has finally bitten the dust. It gets stuck at the O2 screen & won't even boot from an Ubuntu stick. My guess is that the internal flash memory has failed but I cannot explain why it won't boot from a USB sti...

Re: Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick ) for the O2 Joggler.

Thanks - can you help with which fsck commands to run? I'm a bit hazy after having had a look on the Ubuntu forums. I haven't had any crashes or freezing of the OS.

Re: Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick ) for the O2 Joggler.

I keep having a problem with applets disappearing from the top panel. When I boot the Joggler I often get an error message saying that an applet (e.g. clock, notification area) could not be found & suggesting that I delete it. Anyone else get this? I just need to keep adding them back to the panel.

Thanks, I had already tried joggler as a password but it didn't occur to me to use it as a username too! All working fine now.

Re: Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick ) for the O2 Joggler.

I'm trying to set up openssh server on my Joggler's Ubuntu 10.10 so that I can copy files over via winscp. I installed it with Synaptic and had a look in the config file but cannot see how to set a password or how to allow winscp to connect. I'm sure I'm missing something blindingly obvious. Can any...

Re: Telnet, SSH, How to guide?

You need to make sure your Joggler is enabled for telnet. PMJ (pimp my joggler) http://www.joggler.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=842 or plug'n'pimp http://www.joggler.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=1155 will do this for you. Download a program to your PC called Putty http://www.putty.org/ & open ...

Here you go http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1107587/app-o2f ... eimage.tgz

This is for a later file called app-o2flash-26635.8686-S3-f1-reimage.tgz.

If it doesn't work then try this http://www.joggler.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=1160

Re: Squeezeplay on Native - BBC iPlayer buffering

I've had to return one Joggler because the internal flash went t*ts up and have had another mysteriously wipe itself on at least 3 occasions so I'm with you on that one. Are you volunteering? :-) EDIT - I tried flashing an image of the Joggler's native OS to a USB stick & booting from that but needl...

Re: Squeezeplay on Native - BBC iPlayer buffering

I tried the new wifi driver, didn't help :-( - might be worth trying a cable connection temporarily to see if that fixes the problem then you would know for sure. A homeplug might also be a solution.

I didn't realise that Glasgow was such a hotspot for Jogglers!

Re: Squeezeplay on Native - BBC iPlayer buffering

I occasionally have buffering problems with my kitchen Joggler using the native OS & have concluded it's a wifi-related problem due to the Joggler's cr*ppy wifi driver. Streaming is perfect using the same machine booting from any of the Ubuntu distros.

Re: USB Partition

You can create a new partition using the unallocated space. The format doesn't matter much, ext2 and FAT32 can be read by Ubuntu/Jolicloud. Windows PC's will not be able to see the extra partition even if you choose FAT32 as I think only the first partition is visible. I don't think a cable will be ...
