Re: Ubuntu Bionic for OpenFrame

Wireless works with the simple desktop. That said give this a try for command line wireless. 1 - sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces 2 - add this: auto wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp wpa-ssid {ssid} wpa-psk {password} 3 - save and close nano 4 - sudo dhclient wlan0 If the above doesn't work there are mor...

Re: Cisco Cius/OpenPeak OpenTablet 7

I am impressed. Product is new. Two boxes. One "media" dock and the other tablet. It is the Openpeak tablet announced at some show a few years back. Note these are sold new on some current sites for around $800. It boots up to Android. There is a SIM card slot and a SD card slot. Mini USB port. The ...

Re: Ubuntu Bionic for OpenFrame

Dunno why but the build wouldn't stand up to reboots for me scrambling the internal 1Gb or 2Gb eMMC. Thought it was a bad eMMC then updated it with old build and its been fine with constant testing reboots 1-14 days after installation. Am going to try a build and not touch it keeping it at a command...

Re: Cisco Cius/OpenPeak OpenTablet 7

Purchased a new open box Cisco Cius docking station to tinker with it. It has better specs than the Openpeak devices. Prices are way down now for device. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cisco_Cius Total purchase price with shipping was $25 for a new one openbox with docking media station with no PS wh...

Re: Windows 7 Embedded Standard

No matter what drivers I used when building Windows 7 always ended up with BSOD's. Windows 8.1 Embedded and Windows 10 lite did work but was way too slow to be practical. Actually mostly leaving the Windows world these days as Windows 10 is mostly glutinous eye candy. Relating to automation here run...

Re: IP Camera monitoring on Win 10 Joggler

Understood. I did not upgrade the firmware on these boards as current firmware was from July, 2019. The Ebay offer was $25 USD or best with free shipping about a month ago. I did update the firmware on the Hikvision OEM video doorbell. Doing this enabled ONVIF (only with no password). I have disconn...

Re: IP Camera monitoring on Win 10 Joggler

Here do not have a restart timer. What Hikvision camera model is showing for your one Hikvision camera board? You can update the firmware for that camera with the Batch configuration program. What did you pay for the current Hikvision camera board via ali express? Back in the Grandstream board testi...

Re: IP Camera monitoring on Win 10 Joggler

The client demo application is a bit overwhelming. Here it connects fine only it doesn't let you change much other than the basics. It works statically so if you make a change to the camera firmware it only will work until the next reboot of the camera. Old Hikvision application works in Windows her...

Re: IP Camera monitoring on Win 10 Joggler

Ahh.... Just playing here with the new Hikvision OEM doorbell. It came in an unlabeled box. I replaced the Ring doorbell with the Hikvision. Updated the firmware to latest and have ONVIF, RTSP (two streams) and JPG captures going using the HikVision Batch configuration program. The other two camera ...

Re: IP Camera monitoring on Win 10 Joggler

Great news Craig. Here way back went to using Grandstream cameras and Grandstream IP boards and a Grandstream NVR (which I really never used much). Looking now to update my old Optex combos (camera and PIR) to using the Hikvision boards. Noticed too I can telnet to these tinkering boards but do not ...

Gave up for time bean.

Tinkered above with 3 O2 Jogglers all with same results. Dunno what is wrong. Must be me.

Will install old Squeezeplayer OS on the three O2 Jogglers and see what happens.

@hawsey, Here only tinkering with Hikvision 5 MP based open camera boards available on Ebay for around $25 USD. Way long time ago it was Grandstream 1MP cameras and boards for SIP use. Here is an example of a 2MP IP camera board on Ebay hxxps://www.ebay.com/itm/HD-CCTV-2MP-IP-Camera-Module-IPC-board...

Gonna start again from scratch. Went to 1Gb of space after installing the core desktop and trying to install Squeezeplayer. So will do all of the above then just install squeezeplayer. That is really all I want to run anyhow.

Re: Ubuntu Bionic for OpenFrame

08th of October, 2019 Did a halt and cold reboot and warm reboot of 3 Jogglers running Squeezeplayer in Ubuntu 14.XX. All doing well. No eMMC errors on reboot. Gonna try this again with another Joggler. This time only installing Squeezeplayer on the Ubuntu 18.04 build. There is a difference here wh...
