Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
Hello. Is it possible to play .ape file on squeezeplay? If yes ,how? Thanks I don't think so. It's a pretty Windowsy format, IIRC. It should play them but it does it by transcoding in LMS. My LMS runs on a Joggler itself so is easily capable, if you use LMS on some low powered NAS drives it either ...

Re: SqueezePlay OS Beta Test
Is this still on the Beta or have you tried the release version yet?
Mplayer is working fine on my own Joggler but I'm still using version 1.09 so my experience may not be relevant here.

Re: S/PDIF output
Yes pretty easy as others have said. I did an optical socket but in the position that the RCA gets installed in the wiki article. The pins you solder on to on the audio chip are a little bit small but overall pretty straight forward. One of the hardest steps was finding the edge of the serial number...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame
But 1.09 doesn't have LMS installed by default, there's an option to install it within the Squeeze play interface. Are you sure its not a cached browser page or LMS on a different machine you're seeing.

Re: Shellshock - Bash Vulnerability
SqPOS 1.09 so quite an old version on Ubuntu 10.04 reports as vulnerable in the test. SqPOS 2 something or other, not sure of the exact version as it doesn't report the version at logon like 1.09 also reportsbas vulnerable too. Not tried the latest version 3 yet. Practically what does this mean for ...

Going from discussion on the slim devices forum shouldn't be a problem, for UK users at least.

Re: Wrong Power supply bricks device?
Dismantling it is really easy.
You need to peel off the model/serial number sticker at the bottom to expose 4 screws, the shiny black surround and screen can then be gently prised off, either with a proper plastic opening tool or a credit card. Once I'd found those screws the rest was all obvious.

Re: Calender
TBH I mainly use mine for Squeezebox duties but worst case scenario you can install a Linux distro and set the Browser to autostart with the calendar as the homepage.
Alternatively you could install Android and set the calendar app to autostart and/or add the calendar app to your desktop.

Re: LMS fails to scan added files @NAS
The settings issue sounds like the issue with IE11 which was a known problem with LMS, use another browser and you should be OK or update LMS to either 7.4, 7.8 or 7.9. TBH I'm still on 1.09 on my main server Joggler because I see no particular reason to update yet as it all just works and has been ...

Re: LMS fails to scan added files @NAS
With lots of music, certainly too big for the internal memory. Do you run SqPOS from internal memory or a USB stick?
If its a memory stick what size and have you expanded the main Linux partition to use up the unused space on the stick?

Leave as it is. One of mine boots to PNP3 without the stick but I use it predominantly with USB for SqueezeplayOS

Would running Android on the Joggler be a valid solution?
Presumably the harmony stuff can be run on android. Add SqueezePlayer and a squeezebox control app of your choice and it could also be a squeezebox player.

Re: Music on usb stick
My 1.09 SqPOS installation certainly has the folder structure present so chances are good it did have usbmount included, unfortunately my 1.09 Joggler is buried in a false wall and already has all ports taken so I can't test it.

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 2) for OpenFrame
How do you connect to the internet? If you don't use the WiFi you can install a USB stick internally in place of the WiFi card so leaving the external USB still free. Did you tell LMS where to look for the music files? No I didn't because I don't remember having to do that with my original Squeeze B...

I'll try again and check, can't say I remember anything in fstab that looked related though.
Edit: the fstab file date changed however no sign of anything else in the fstab file other than my manual entry. This particular Joggler is running the latest SqPOS on the internal memory.
