Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame

It's not happening when I'm streaming music from the internet, and it's only happening to the Joggler. An under-run would indicate that the Joggler's not getting the data quickly enough, either due to the wifi network bandwidth or some overly intensive processing that's happening on the LMS server ...

Should this still be working?
It should indeed. I'll need to check the paths being used.

Re: Unable to connect to WiFi: CRDA error

Is the WNDA3100 (also dual band, I think) also supported in SQPOS V3, can you tell me? I have no idea, I'm afraid - a lot of Netgear drivers are in the kernel and I included as many wifi and ethernet USB devices as possible, so if there's any kernel support for it at all, it is likely to be there. ...

Re: How to build a Linux image for the Joggler

Sorry for the delay replying, probably easiest to take a look at the thread on the ALSA mailing list for where I'm up to with the audio bug. http://mailman.alsa-project.org/pipermail/alsa-devel/2018-September/140065.html This is the latest patch, but nothing I've tried so far fixes the audio issue -...

Re: How to build a Linux image for the Joggler

Certainly are, check out ‘andydvsn’ on GitHub, I’ll post the latest versions tonight if I get chance. Repo is OpenFrame-Kernel. I’ll post a description of the ALSA issues too, I’m stuck right now and I’ve not had a lot back from the ALSA mailing list. Basically, the right channel of the internal spe...

Re: How to build a Linux image for the Joggler

Sound is the one I'm struggling with again right now. Things have changed in ALSA in the latest kernel configurations and I can't get the auto-mute when you connect headphones / line output working correctly. The signal to the internal speakers is muted, but the R channel plays amplified circuit noi...

Re: Updated OpenPeak Firmware (Version 30301)

My server is receiving heartbeats (yeah, that's what OpenPeak called them in the code!) from about 8 different devices now; I'm assuming nobody's having trouble with their icons vanishing with v30301? If you are, please post here and I'll investigate.

Re: Unable to connect to WiFi: CRDA error

In fact I'd quite like to try a more modern USB adapter but it's not yet such a problem that I want to take my Jogglers apart and try to find/build drivers etc...! The real solution for me would be to switch to 5GHz, and connect my 5GHz base station instead. I can highly recommend the Netgear WNDA3...

Re: Updated OpenPeak Firmware (Version 30301)

I still have a problem with the wifi on my devices. I wonder if the new firmware will fix it...? Anyway, thanks for persevering with it. I'm flashing now after several false starts, probably caused by Safari opening the .gz and me not realising it had uncompressed it in situ. With the image uncompr...

This should be fixed with the new 30301 release I've posted, with any luck. Please let me know if it returns!

Replicating OpenPeak Update Server

Hey everyone, So, in the latest release of the original OS that I've put together ( v30301 ), I've altered the binaries and config files to send update requests to openbeak.net, instead of openpeak.net. The openbeak.net site is currently an empty directory on the birdslikewires.net server, the event...

Re: Updated OpenPeak Firmware (Version 30301)

Hey everyone, just a heads-up that I've updated this image after six years! All calls to the defunct openpeak.net servers are now being sent to openbeak.net, a service I'm running on the birdslikewires.net site. This removes the (remote) possibility of somebody to buying up openpeak.net and doing so...

OggCamp 2018

Hey everyone, Last minute, as per usual for me, but JonTheNiceGuy organises OggCamp which is happening in Sheffield, UK, this year and with a little luck they'll be allowing me to do a short presentation on Joggler tinkering tomorrow. If you're around, hop on the website, grab a ticket (they're free...

Server Twiddling

Hi folks, Just to let you know that I'm in the process of moving the birdslikewires website, giving it a little TLC in the process. If update requests and the like go funky for a day or so, that'll be why. Everything should be back to normal once I have my domains and databases in order again! Cheer...

Re: Alerty - An App I've Written!

FYI the Openpeak 7e device that I collected today boots up with a British Gas logo (top left after boot, not the initial logo, which is Openpeak) and has an AlertMe app. I tried booting SqueezePlayOS from USB but, for now at least, it is not working. I do see USB activity (USB stick has an activity...

Internal installation just for the convenience/neatness really. (They're not pretty with a USB stick out of the side)
I use a SanDisk Cruzer Fit on one of my Jogglers. Very inconspicuous - and you can get even smaller ones that take microSD cards. :)

Re: Opera mini web browser

The Opera mini web browser running on the native OS keeps crashing on our Joggler. I'm thinking reflashing might fix it but, before I wipe everything, is there a way I can reinstall just the web browser to see if that fixes it? I think you'd probably end up giving yourself more work than just knock...

Re: Ubuntu Bionic (Base System)

The 4.4 kernel series looks like a much better bet. I've managed to make some changes that mean the config and patches on my GitHub page will result in a 4.15 kernel that fires up and doesn't panic on boot, but there are the old issues still present with the rear headphone jack not cutting out the i...
