Man in a van wrote: Tue Aug 08, 2023 10:13 pmDon't know how to blacklist the internal audio

Code: Select all

sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
Then paste this in and save the file.

Code: Select all

blacklist snd-hda-intel
That will prevent the internal audio system from starting and your USB device will be card 0.

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

Check /etc/asound.conf - it can be simplified for USB DACS.

There’s no issue running 24-bit/96kHz DACS, they work just fine.

Also, if you get any conflicts or weird behaviour, blacklisting the Intel sound module will disable internal audio entirely.

Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame

Odd little thing, it would seem that permissions for cron are not being set correctly while the image is being built. Next images have a fix applied on first boot, but if you get an "access denied" error when setting up your crontab, do this: sudo -s chown :crontab /usr/bin/crontab chmod 2...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

Not quite there yet Ahh, the old script still points to BirdsLikeWires backend and not the new dedicated server. Could you edit line 148 in the /usr/local/sbin/of-install script and change the SQPSERVER string to: SQPSERVER="https://openbeak.net/openframe/squeezeplay/v7.8" That should hav...

Re: RIP my Joggler

Oh, no! Are you intending to repair it?

If you are, great, you may just need a new EFI chip. If you're not I'd be happy to cover your postage costs to send it to me under my "never bin a Joggler" policy. :)

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

I built a Joggler using the latest Bullseye build (5.10.186) and in the past the "of-install" script to install Squeezeplay worked, but sadly it now fails. It seems to be trying to download 7.8 from https://openbeak.net/openframe/squeezeplay/v7.8/ but the folder is empty. Any chance you c...

Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame

This is repeated for the download available today (25th July) Looks like an external issue with the repos being updated at the same time as the image build was attempted, it's in the log for that build. Failed to fetch http://deb.debian.org/debian/dists/bookworm/main/i18n/Translation-en.xz File has...

@roobarb! Is something wrong here? https://i.postimg.cc/DwS0zFSB/birdslikewires.png ronnie Yeah, there's a bug. This version is fine for now, just looking at it. It's half fixed, I'll take another look tomorrow. UPDATE: I broke it more, and much worse. UPDATE2: Well, I completely fried that server ...

Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame

No album art from either local files or streaming radio stations That's usually a library thing, did you get art on the previous incarnation out of the box? Image conversion libraries (in fact, as many libraries as possible) aren't included by default so people have a little space to work with on t...

Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame

Awesome! I love seeing OpenFrames still doing cool stuff. I've edited the opening post because audio is now working just fine. Minor tweak to asound.conf was all that was required. mpg123 seems to still try to use PulseAudio first (which is not present) but running with "-o alsa" or using ...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

I have one Joggler running 5.10.179 connected on Ethernet and (for reliability) trying to connect a second one on Ethernet too. However, the second one appears to get the same IP address from DHCP. I seem to recall an issue with non unique MAC addresses a long time ago - can anybody advise? Looking...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

Apologies to any folks who had issues with the last 5.10.180 build of Debian - there was a repo outage at the time the build ran which broke it. I've removed the dodgy build and linked back to the .179 release. The .180 version should be reprocessed overnight. BTW, I've abandoned Twitter these days,...

Re: Ubuntu Bionic for OpenFrame

I think nginx suppprts "reload" (sighup) to detect new certificate - so can use that rather than "restart" which would mean no down time and transactions in progress could complete. Ta, I now have certbot do this with a --post-hook, so if any certs are updated, they're reloaded ...
