Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
I could not get a list of squeezelite output devices as the "new user", both "of" and "root" provided the list. sudo usermod -aG audio newuser That'll probably sort it. Users need to be members of certain groups to get permission to tinker with the various systems, aud...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
Should I continue as user "of" or is it best practice to create a new user ? :? The default "of" user is in the sudoers list, so can perform superuser tasks when authenticated. So if you were being strict, yes, you could create a "squeezeplay" user with no special priv...

Re: A question to the experts
Depending on the compression ratio 1080p can play on the Joggler, though it's pointless given the 480p (5:3) display. Very roughly, the more compressed the video, the harder the CPU has to work to decode it (this isn't always true, there are a lot of factors at play in H.264 compression). On your As...

Re: 6 x Joggler, 2 x Telstra w/ DECT phone and 1 x OpenPeak 2 free to collector
@roobarb! I've never seen the Telstra ones before with phone , not sure if they boot up just like Jogglers , they certainly look the same . If you message me your address I'll send one forward to you [emoji106] Oh my word, I can't tell you how long I've been looking for one of those! Thank ...

Re: Sudden buffering problem in SqueezeplayOS
Oof, best of luck - sounds like it could be a faff to untangle. Hope you get to the cause without too much frustration! I'll install Debian Bullseye on one of my spare Jogglers and try that - thanks for the links. Just so you're aware, the auto-installers (through of-install) haven't been tested on ...

Re: Sudden buffering problem in SqueezeplayOS
when the buffering started today I logged into piCorePlayer's web interface, then clicked the button to open the LMS web interface. LMS wouldn't load, I had to restart LMS from piCorePlayer to get a response. So when the buffering starts, the LMS web interface gets hung up - but I don't know if tha...

Re: Sudden buffering problem in SqueezeplayOS
That is weird. Some Jogglers are on wifi and some are wired, you say? And they misbehave in the same way?
When did the problems begin?
Do you have any devices playing back that aren't Jogglers? Do they misbehave the same way?

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
Making a start on this, many thanks for making it available. There is technical snag with updating passwords. Thanks, I'm not near one I can use to test at the moment, but I'll look into this. I also note that /home is owned by user of , should this not be root ? Huh, yes, and I spotted this and th...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame
First automated copy should be kernel 5.10.118, just brewing.
I originally got things working with a 5.10.100 build, but this one should be a little more polished and a little less rickety.

Re: Ubuntu Bionic for OpenFrame
Okay folks, I've rebuilt my server on Debian Bullseye to support the latest images, which means Ubuntu Bionic will no longer receive regular updates. Standard support from Canonical ends next April, while Bullseye is expected to have support until June 2026. There will be no new Ubuntu based builds ...

Ah, great stuff! Thanks, @hawsey, that's very kind. I think you might have my details already... maybe? If not just give me a shout.
And thanks, Jim - best of luck in your new home!

Re: Finally cracked it!
Got a couple of hours to mess with Debian Bullseye this evening. Up-to-date builds should now begin appearing here and they are working pretty well. Kernel 5.10.117 is the first to be auto-built for Debian Bullseye and Ubuntu Bionic builds will continue for the foreseeable future, though I'll not be...

Re: 6 x Joggler, 2 x Telstra w/ DECT phone and 1 x OpenPeak 2 free to collector
As per the title, I have 6 x Normal Jogglers (2 x power supplies) plus 2 x the Joggler that comes with a DECT phone and 1 x the larger format Joggler (OpenPeak 2.0 I think). I've been looking for the Jogglers that came with DECT phones for the entire time I've been doing Joggler stuff. Never had on...

Re: Finally cracked it!
I am good now except for a bit of crackle. That's interesting, I wonder if anything has changed in the latest kernel release because that behaviour is exactly what I observed as being fixed now. What EFI/BIOS were you using? In alsamixer there should be an option for muting... I think it's Line Out...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
Could you pls adivse me what's wrong here? Many tks! Sorry, I've just realised this is the old SqueezePlay for Joggler thread! I really wouldn't advise you use this these days. Try downloading the base operating system instead and running sudo of-install squeezeplay instead. That should get things ...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame
Hi Roobarb, I am truly a newbie for Joggler and this fourm. I regret to know both of them so late. Better late than never! ;) I reflashed your sqpOS303 and also EDO version for Joggler, veru happy to have a alternative for STB with such low cost. I am currently working on making Joggler a cheaper S...

Re: Finally cracked it!
I think I know the answer given the infamy of the GM500, but I'll ask anyway because why not, what's situation with hardware acceleration of graphics and video playback? Sadly unchanged. The GMA500 is a PowerVR based GPU and I get the impression that it's the licensing between Intel and Imagination...
