Re: Inaccurate Touchscreen

Firmware issues with stock OS are resolved. Get the final working version from http://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=539&start=120#p10836 You can tell I don't keep my eye on the ball around here :P. Cheers for the link, I'll take a look. SqueezeplayOS is working pretty well f...

Inaccurate Touchscreen

Hello all I primarily use SqueezeplayOS on my Joggler these days, and its main use is a replacement for my aging alarm clock (talk about using a sledgehammer to crack a nut! :P). I've noticed however that the menu responses can be inaccurate; it'll select the menu above the one I pressed or it just ...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

I have installed the OS on a microcard via the reader which is wired to the board and fixed in the case as a mod, with the original USB port as is. I am presuming the external port is the default USB boot one, as I inserted a USB stick with music on and now the Joggler boots into the stock OS as it...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

Hitting the 'power' button icon on the top left of the home menu blanks the screen for me. Tapping the screen again brings it to life. I think there's also a screensaver option that will blank the screen after a user-specified delay. It appears that sometimes a little knowledge can be a dangerous t...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

Excellent work. I installed this to the internal flash (using an existing USB distro) and it works brilliantly. Incidentally, if I'd known it was that easy to install an OS to the internal flash memory I'd have investigated it much sooner. I did have a bit of an issue with getting a USB sound device...

Re: Power Supplies

Made up the kit. Maplins do a 2.2A and a 3.0 Amp current trip, so used that instead of an inline fuse. To all those thinking of having a go, the 12V which is usually a 5mm 2.5mm plug and socket works fine, powers up external hard drives no problem at all. Checked it on a WWStars dual caddy, via fir...

Will be interesting to see how you get on, there are various USB dacs about so I could be tempted to have a try too. As i recall my cmedia one worked fine, it was item # 230583551200 on fleabay (can't post link as on phone) having edited the asound file, but as its lost I thought I'd try a differen...

Re: Suggestion for PnP III

would it be possible in your extensive set of scripts to allow for Squeezecentre (ie the server bit) to be optional? I use 2 jogglers connected to my NAS which has squeeze on it... so the server part is perhaps overkill There's a script in /etc/init.d/boot.d which controls the startup of Logitech M...

Re: MineCraft Server

That's an interesting idea - I'd never thought of using the joggler to run a Minecraft server. I currently use my main PC to host a server... Where did you get the Java version from - could this not just be copied (or ln'ed) into /usr/bin so that you don't need to keep it all in the same folder? And...

Re: Networking issues

I'm guessing that you're trying to get Logitech Media Server to see the music on the shared drives of your networked PC? You can't use "\\server\sharename" to specify a folder shared on the network under Linux. You have to use a loadable kernel module called CIFS, which doesn't appear to b...

Re: PnP Mk II - Here it is!

Grab the kernel module from this post http://webdiary.com/2010/11/05/squeezeb ... -a-budget/. Upload this to the joggler using SCP, and test it by running (via an SSH connection): /sbin/insmod /some_directory_path/cifs.ko. Run lsmod and you should see the cifs module running. If you want, you can t...

Re: Linux Mint for the O2 Joggler

Another question, while I'm thinking about it! How much of a performance benefit does Btrfs actually give? In the past, I've tended to stay away from compressed filesystems because the performance tradeoffs weren't usually worth it - extra storage space is cheaper than faster hardware. I'm using th...

Re: O2: Updating O2 Joggler on 30th April

I'm not quite so enthused with this approach by O2. I understand why they would want to do it but they were really selling a product based on it's functionality and now once you've bought it they're reneging on that. While most of the apps can be replaced by others if you're technical their target ...

Re: Bluestacks app player beta released

I installed this last night on my desktop and had it running without a problem. There were a few skips and stutters in a couple of graphics-heavy apps, but really minor. I haven't tried to install any apps other than the pre-packaged apps, but they seemed to work quite well. I did download a few leg...

Re: Linux Mint for the O2 Joggler

you cant do 1080p within xbmc from my tests but you can do it from mplayer with vaapi. might have to tweak buffers/cache size a bit for optimal playback. Check if I included vaapi enabled mplayer in /usr/local/bin/ 720p h264 is fine in xbmc from my tests. vaapi support isnt perfect though, so some ...

Re: Linux Mint for the O2 Joggler

One question regarding the hardware video acceleration though: what formats can the Joggler hardware actually accelerate? I've tried a playing few HD videos from my PC over the network (PC uses wired gigabit ethernet and Joggler uses the 802.11n WiFi) and I get really choppy video with lots of drop...

Re: Joli OS for the O2 Joggler

I realise you are informing everyone and not me directly (I am aware of this stuff), but this isn't actually the problem with the USB sticks. My images are 3994880000 bytes in size which should fit on any device that is advertised as 4gb (as in 4,000,000,000). The 4gb verbatim stick I have here is ...

Re: Joli OS for the O2 Joggler

as a stick sold as 4gb should not be 3.9gb or so. And here's where we unfortunately run into problems defining "gigabytes" and "megabytes"... Sorry, I'm going to get a bit nerdy, so please skip this entire post if you're not interested in why a 4GB image won't fit on a 4GB stick...

Re: Boost Native Joggler Volume

Can you confirm that the Behringer UCA202 works with the Joggler? If so, does it work with the stock OS? I was going to buy one of these for the optical output but even at £20 (ish) it would be an expensive item if it didn't work. I'd love a neat alternative to my current USB card with S/PDIF out, ...

Re: White Screen Joggler - Is it dead, or can it be fixed?

Does it do the same thing when you try to boot it normally? (i.e., without a USB stick plugged in) Regardless of whether you're trying to boot from USB, you should see an OpenPeak or O2 logo as soon as you plug in the power. If not, the unit itself may be faulty... Someone else here with more experi...
