Re: Alternative power supplies

Hi Juggler, Just a couple of quick thoughts... I don't know anything about the Jogglers input over voltage protection, so can't shed any light on that but I'd be surprised if it couldn't handle 5.645v. It occurs to me that your extra 0.65v is very nearly the 0.7v that a silicon diode drops when forw...

Re: Joggler Side USB Port Current Source Capacity

I feel the need for a disclaimer coming on! :-) If you let the smoke out of your Joggler it's on your on head. Unless you have built some kind of a "Y" cable that will let you plug 2 USB devices in to one port, then you are going to be using a hub of some sort, either powered or not. If it...

Re: Plex Media Server on the joggler

Hi Gegs, Yes I changed the DNS settings on the router. It's surprising which "features" get left out of router firmware. Is it one provided by your ISP? A descent router is like a really good pair of boots, a complete pain to get broken in but then it becomes so reliable and taken for gran...

Re: Plex Media Server on the joggler

Since my last post I've moved back to Canada. I had my daughter bring 4 NowTV boxes with her last month when she came for a visit. I pay $4.99 a month to unblock-us.com which isn't a VPN but a DNS sorter-outer. The BBC somehow uses DNS to implement their geolocating and blocking. It works great. I h...

Re: Another non-booting joggler

Are you saying that the same USB stick that used to boot with the reflashing tool no longer boots?
Have you tried connecting a keyboard and giving the blind "fs0" etc etc commands?

Re: Interesting blog

Hello Torne, With your knowledge of how the Joggler boots, do you have any thoughts about the large number of Jogglers that lose the ability to boot from the internal 1GB flash memory? As far as I know every test that people have run on the memory hasn't revealed any errors. EFI chips have been swap...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

Thank you for sharing with us your excellent, well thought out, well documented software creations, Roobarb!. On your website you state "Or you can run it from a larger device and use the remaining space for music.", does this mean that Squeezeserver (or one of it's 52 other names!) is inc...

Re: White Screen Joggler - Is it dead, or can it be fixed?

One of my five Jogglers has this problem. It will not boot from USB devices or the internal flash memory. I have had it apart and tried switching parts from a working Joggler only to find that the screen assembly is serviceable as is the EFI chip, that only leaves the main board. I'm not saying your...

Re: VOIP, Asterisk, 3CX etc etc

Well Dan, as long as the Joggler can play my "P1$$ OFF sales people" message, which everyone has to listen to, within 15 seconds of answering the call then that's good enough for me! :D

Re: Joggler Side USB Port Current Source Capacity

As for your experience with charging your Ericsson phone, devices are supposed to negotiate with the USB host regarding how much current they can draw before they draw it. I think that the USB spec never dreamed that it would become the de facto standard for charging gadgets of all kinds. Just becau...

Re: Joggler Side USB Port Current Source Capacity

By showing the photo of a HDD pulling 840mA from a Jogglers side USB port I wasn't advocating that as something one should do daily, I was just trying to emphasize the fact that the Joggler can provide the fully specified 5 unit loads of the USB 2 specification. The HDD being used for those tests us...

Re: VOIP, Asterisk, 3CX etc etc

Well Juggler, I appear to have run out of steam on this project for the time being. Since Saturday I've spent a day and a half installing all of the Windows updates hoping that it would solve the services not starting problem.... It didn't! I spent another half day figuring out that only one Joggler...

Re: Boost Native Joggler Volume

Thank you MrMonkington, the Squeezeplay part of your instructions just worked. The Joggler that I just tried it on has been reflashed with Roobarbs Reflashing Tool and has his version of the Telnet/SSH hack, Squeezeplay and that is it. So it doesn't have a S99boot.hacks file to modify. But having yo...

Windows Help Required, Please.

I'm having a hard time getting the "3CX Gateway for Skype" to run on my Joggler and was wondering if anyone that is running ANY of the Joggler Windows builds could try to install it on their build and then let me know which build they are using and if the "3CX Gateway Monitor" pr...

Joggler Side USB Port Current Source Capacity

There has been some speculation, in various threads on this forum, that the Joggler is incapable of supplying much current to device that are connected to it. If you have a read of the USB specifications it states that a "Unit Load" is 100mA and that a USB 2 port should be able to supply 5...
