I assume you're referring to the tar error:
tar: Option --overwrite is not supported
What version of tar are you using? GNU tar has this option. I dont think BSD tar does (mac os) but I would have thought you could download a version of GNU tar.

The additional IPs listening on port 5555 is adb, which I have been playing with :) Fixed the timezone issue: Needed to change some properties so created a /data/local.prop containing: persist.sys.language=en persist.sys.country=GB persist.sys.timezone=Europe/London ro.product.locale.language=en ro....

I dont see any option to enable ethernet, am I missing it or is it just not there? Not currently suppported in ICS-x86 although the developers on the mailling list are discussing it - ive sent a message to Mijuu on mporter. On another note - does anyone know how to change the timezone permenantly? ...
