Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame

Hi all - I reinstalled Debian on my joggler today using the new (to me) Bookworm image. I'm happy to report that it worked with hardly any manual intervention from me, CLI wise. The only thing I had to do was to reinstall the 'passwd' package in order to change the password, as it was failing with t...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

I am rebuilding a Joggler and used 5.10.176 from 23 March 2023 and that booted fine. However, audio is bad (stutters) with the BBC Sounds plug-in, but works fine for Global, Spotify, my ripped music, etc. BBC Sounds also works fine on the SB Radio, so issue is specific to the Joggler. Anyone got an...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

I have been able to sort this now, with all sources playing without stuttering. The key points are Keep /etc/asound.conf set to 44.1KHz, for compatibility with the majority of sources In the joggler player preferences on LMS, ensure that 'bitrate limiting' is set so that it transcodes the audio befo...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

I'll try and replicate your set up, it will take a while so I won't have a reult until tomorrow, sorry. When you use the Joggler as a player, which audio autput do you use ? Sorry I missed this last night Ronnie, and thanks so much for testing it out! I will have a look later today and let you know...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

My celebration was short lived unfortunately - after fixing the BBC sounds issue by changing the sample rate in asound.conf to 48KHz, I then tried Spotify and other services and they all exhibited the stutter instead! So it seems that BBC sounds works with the sample rate fixed at 48KHz and everythi...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

Would be so kind as to detail how you did that, it will help others (and save me a google search :) ) Sure, My issue was how to run fsck on a readonly file system, and the solution (from https://askubuntu.com/questions/197459/how-to-fix-sudo-unable-to-open-read-only-file-system#422153 ) is to run i...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

I'm hoping that if I can change the sample rate it will fix it, but I need to sort out the read-only file system first. It seems that all content is read-only at the moment. Indeed that was it. After a fsck I was able to update /etc/asound.conf and now BBC sounds is playing fine on the joggler. Tha...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

Would you please describe your setup in a littel more detail, lms location, wireless or Ethernet, player, that sort of thing :) I have the LMS on ethernet. The rest of the players - several Radios and one Joggler - are all using wifi. That's the strange thing about it, it doesn't seem to be related...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

https://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=32469#p32469 I haven't done this for a long time, as I say It's not really required :) ronnie Thanks Ronnie! I just noticed someone's advice from the 'Squeezeplay for joggler' thread to edit /etc/asound.conf and change the sample rate from 44.1 to 4...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

Well it should fix the problem. I have just finished an install of Squeezeplay on the Debian Bullseye and BBC Sounds is playing without a problem. That's good to hear - did you have issues on the Stable LMS release? Where is your LMS installed? It's on a separate PC running Ubuntu. I have no issues...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

Hi Peter First of, ensure your LMS is the latest http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=8.3 ronnie Hi ronnie - thanks for the suggestion. I am running the latest stable version: 8.3.0 - 1667251155 @ Fri 04 Nov 2022. Do you know of something in the nightly release that could help with this?

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

Hi folks, I'm using this image and it's proving very stable, other than I am having trouble with stuttered playback when using BBC sounds. Other music sources are fine on the joggler and other players on my network (e.g. Squeezebox Radios) play BBC sounds fine as well. I realise this isn't the suppo...
