Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame

(From the Bullseye thread - about restarting startx.service - referring to the unit you get when doing the "of-install squeezeplay") I just hit Ctrl+C and it pops back :) Yup, I spotted that too :-) seems ok. Glad the reboot/shutdown thing works for you too. Ok so I think this is due to a ...

Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame

I couldn't reboot from there because of the issue that the Polkit update has resolved and I didn't want to simply pull the plug ... so I ssh'd in and did a reboot from there. In any case - I think it would be useful to have Relaunch in SqueezePlay again. You could make the polkit change yourself (i...

Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame

I've thrown that into the install script for Bookworm now, ta! The scripts don't auto-update any more, so this'll only appear in new builds. There used to be a cool update server thing, but it felt like overkill. Got it - thanks! (BTW I also did a corresponding polkit entry for Bullseye - other thr...

Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame

1. Do we think that adding the polkit stuff should be part of the "of-install squeezeplay" script, or is it part of upstream Squeezeplay, or something else? Would be good to get that upstream somewhere, but point me in the right direction if I should take that elsewhere! 2. Unrelated obser...

Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame

I tried to create the reboot/shutdown script from your Bullseye but without any success  Not too surprised by that. I can take a look at Bookworm maybe later. Ok here we go. Bookworm has the newer policykit , so the rules definitions are totally different. But because I now sortof know what I...

Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame

I would use the prior one (but remember this image is for experimentaion, so I treat it a bit like a beta :) Happy to report that it worked for me, after a bit of fiddling which I suspect was related to iffy wifi during the setup process (and aforementioned memory stick corruption). I think what ac...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

So, I worked out how to capture log output, and I've captured something interesting about the Quit -> Reboot and Quit -> Shutdown menu items Quit -> Reboot logs this: Failed to set wall message, ignoring: Interactive authentication required. Failed to reboot system via logind: Interactive authentica...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

make sure BBC Sounds is up to date (v2.23.1) It might help to also restart LMS My BBC Sounds is reporting 2.32.1 which is newer than the one you mentioned. I've tried restarting LMS already. It what way is BBC Sounds "not working", how are you playing it ? Ah fair question, I should have ...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

Ok, full reinstall of Bullseye (same version as before) and it seems to be much happier. Must have been something corrupted on the memory stick. Now Playing is working as it should. Having said that, BBC Sounds is not working for me. Does that work for you on both Bullseye AND Bookworm, or only on B...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

Thanks for the replies. Hm, I wonder what I could be doing wrong. I'll start over. In my case, I did expand the file system (first), then I ran of-install squeezeplay, then I ran apt update / apt upgrade. Maybe I'll try it in the other order and see if it works better. Also - would you recommend Bul...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

Been following some of these threads for a while and decided to get back into Joggler. Latest Bullseye (as at writing) is 5.10.197 . Installation seemed relatively smooth (although /usr/local/sbin not in path? or is that normal these days). Weirdly, no Now Playing screen shows up for me. Looking aro...

Ah, interesting. I couldn't find any references (I looked through logitech bug tracker too). Do you have a link?

Re: Updating SqueezePlay ... I don't get it

Hm, make it four dumb questions, because I found a new bug which (from some research) seems to have been fixed in a newer Squeezeplay version: I recently rebuilt my LMS (actually now I have two, I'm still recompiling the other one). The Squeezeplay "My Music" option on the Joggler lists ju...

Updating SqueezePlay ... I don't get it

(aka three dumb questions: WHICH version of WHAT is recommended and how to update?) Hey all, I've been running Sqpos 30301 for a couple years, and it just worked, and I've not really thought about updating it (I installed and flashed to memory, and I left it there, great). 1. *should I* be in the ha...

Re: Loud digital noise suddenly started (internal speakers and external)

Interesting indeed! Thanks for the suggestion to reflash - I did that and the problem went away. Now, there's a couple of possible explanations (some kind of corruption of the flash memory, or some kind of bad ALSA state being saved and restored each time). Second feels more likely, but I tried lots...

Loud digital noise suddenly started (internal speakers and external)

Hi! I got a second-hand joggler about 18 months ago, installed sqpos v3.03 straight away, and had mostly no problems. It was a bit unreliable (sometimes failing to boot, sometimes coming up with corrupted partition, sometimes boot but no audio or no screen or no touchscreen etx) but it seems related...
