Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & sqpOS)
Thanks - I'm beginning to get the picture. This is going to be particularly important if mysqueezebox.com (MSB) gets neglected or disappears completely. In summary for playing BBC it appears we have these options: "BBC" app on MSB - this provides just the live radio and presumably requires...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & sqpOS)
The best way to listen to BBC streams on the Joggler is either on Squeezeplay OS (which supports the squeezebox.com BBC addon) or add the BBC iPlayer and iPlayer Extra addons in Logitech Media Server. Logitech Media Server is installed automatically with PnPIII or can be installed easily on Squeeze...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & sqpOS)
Now here's my question (I assume I should put it on this discussion as it's SqueezePlay for Joggler specific I think and we don't have a separate area on the forum)... Has anyone been having trouble listening to BBC today? "Error: No items found in playlist. BBC Radio 4 (London)". When I d...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & sqpOS)
Hi All, apologies if these have been done to death, but I'm still not 100% clear after searching the forum. Perhaps someone can fill me in on these noob questions... I'll see if I can answer a few of these, but am far from an expert ;) - Wot's the difference between 'Squeezeplay for Joggler' and 'S...

Re: upside down joggler
I found this below but am not sure if invert means rotate 180 degrees :?: Under Linux, the following commands will rotate a laptop's builtin screen (I think it usually gets named LVDS1): Code: xrandr --output LVDS1 --rotate normal xrandr --output LVDS1 --rotate left xrandr --output LVDS1 --rotate r...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler
I'm afraid that adding an additional on-screen keyboard won't be possible. There's not a proper window manager as such - SqueezePlay is rendered straight to the screen, so there's nothing there to control the appearance and positioning of other elements. Thanks roobarb - I thought that might be the...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler
Ah, I understand a bit better now (having not really used SqueezePlay itself much previously and just installed it on my PC). The on/off button etc are all standard SqueezePlay functionality so any change would need to be done in that, i.e. not trivial. Looking at the wiki though ( http://wiki.slimd...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler
Just stumbled upon SqueezePlay OS and tried it out yesterday - worked first time. This is great roobarb!, thanks! 8-) I do find, that after it has been in standby/clock, when you power on it doesn't find my LMS straight away. I'm connected over wired ethernet to LMS permanently running on a NAS so h...

Re: What's the best sound we can expect from internal amp?
Well, regarding headphone vs line-out http://techtalk.parts-express.com/showthread.php?210229-Line-level-out-vs-headphone-out-what-s-the-difference suggests: Line level outputs typically have a source impedance of 50 to a few hundred ohms. They are intended to drive loads that have a high input impe...

What's the best sound we can expect from internal amp?
Hi I thought I posted something about speakers for the Joggler a good while back but can't find it now... I have one of my Jogglers in the kitchen and would like to listen to speech radio (R4) on it mostly but the internal speakers are too tinny. What I would like to do, ideally, is connect an exter...

Re: New Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.4 + Google Apps + Twea
Android market is now broken for the Joggler due to changes made by Google. IMHO the 1.2.3 Android build is better - audio works and many more apps can run on it. THanks for the suggestion! I've now got 1.2.3 and 1.2.4 running on Jogglers side-by-side so did a little comparison this afternoon. If y...

Re: New Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.4 + Google Apps + Twea
You could try this: ... Sounds a bit long winded. I forgot you could just mount the image as a loopback device (sudo losetup /dev/loop0 /dev/sd<x>) and then run gparted on that (sudo gparted /dev/loop0), however when I looked at it with gparted it's actually it's a lot simpler - the partitions on 1...

Re: New Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.4 + Google Apps + Twea
I can't use any of these images on my 4GB stick as they are all too big. I guess it's to do with the stick that the original image is taken from. So a 4GB stick should be OK (I suppose you soon won't be able to buy them anyway though  ). The Android_Joggler_2.2 v1.2.3.img image compressed file...

Actually I've just had a look at the mijuu_1.2.4_gapps_tweaked.img and it's 3.8GB or 4002938880 bytes so perhaps it's only just not fitting in your stick...

Great - me too! I uploaded at tweaked version of v1.2.3 which Buzz has kindly hosted http://joggler.exotica.org.uk/img/android/Android_Joggler_2.2%20v1.2.3.img.gz I fixed the glitches present on the original release & it has GAPPS preinstalled. It's much better than 1.2.4 - really! Ah cool! I co...

Re: New Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.4 + Google Apps + Twea
Does anyone know how to fix the sound issues on the 1.2.4 build? Kind of reluctant to start again and downgrade to 1.2.3. I'm in the same boat. For a non-Android expert can anyone recap the main differences between 1.2.3 and 1.2.4, e.g. I noticed somewhere on the old 1.2.3 discussion ( http://www.j...

Does that mean the Android Market was working for you? I can't seem to find much in it and anything I have tried to install fails to even download.myredhotcar wrote:I'm also having issues with sound. I tried installing AudioManager Pro but this didn't seem to fix it.

Re: New Android 2.2.2 Mijuu Build 1.2.4 + Google Apps + Twea
I recently loaded BuZz's image onto one of my Jogglers - great stuff, I hadn't checked out the Android build for Joggler for over a year and this is a vast improvement over the old one. So a big thanks to Mijuu, jp_hero, asantaga and others! This is what I've found: * AudioManager worked when it fir...
