Re: SPOTIFYOS- Easy way to create forked internal memory dis

Thanks Jimbo. That's a very interesting idea - though one I wouldn't want to use for this purpose as one reason I got my joggler was a low power pc rather than having so many machines on doing so much! But I didn't know you could do that and has a lot of applications in the future e.g. streaming mus...

Re: SPOTIFYOS- Easy way to create forked internal memory dis

Found an android app (also available as a generic web app for other mobiles) that controls the linux version of Spotify Free!! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.olejon.spotcommander http://code.google.com/p/spotcommander/ So will try and get something up but probably just on external...

SPOTIFYOS- Easy way to create forked internal memory distro?

Hi there. Apologies if this is already explained in another forum but I haven't seen it from extensive browsing. I was really amazed that squeezeplayos was allowed to be installed on the internal memory. That is a great achievement. But I don't use squeezeplay and instead want to create my own set u...

Re: Ubuntu Netbook remix revisited

i know this distro well! - easypeasy - i installed it on some kidproof netbooks (zoostorm fizzbook) for my son and wife as windows running on it was too slow (my 1 year old son managed to break a nicer samsung nc10). very wife friendly distro. big icons for firefox, skype etc. got the old netbooks f...

Re: XBMC 720p Playback

Hey there - I am a heavy user of netflix on the windows distro on joggler. Yes - you need to reduce the resolution to minimum. I have a ps3 and want top quality resolution for that but my wife also uses an intel atom powered netbook and so I always default to low quality resolution when I'm not usin...

Re: ICS installed on Internal Flash!

wow! that's incredible!! well done! i don't like the idea of running off an external usb stick as i have a 2 year old boy and i don't want him ripping it out! i have a few touch screen educational games on my android phone he uses and could use the joggler - the only problem is it uses mains rather ...

Re: HTML 5 - grooveshark

i presume you're using the default os? i don't think it can handle anything like that using the opera browser. i think you will need to either install windows or ubuntu on a flash drive - it's very easy and then you can do everything - including netflix on windows. you can also install xbmc on both ...

i'm sure someone here is nutty enough to try and install windows 8 on it though :)

Re: What would be best for me?

I used to use ubuntu but recently switched to Mevi's windows distribution... and it is great! i installed xbmc and that means that iplayer is good quality streaming. i also use netflix on it! as you currently use windows server, if you use window's distro then it should be easy to share files over t...

Re: Anyone tried netflix on android or windows?

Hi Mevi! I originally downloaded 10.11.11 which was superfast but no sound! I didn't try cabled connection, only wifi. From what I remember there were 5 errors when I went to add/remove hardware. They all seemed related to audio and codecs. Don't remember anything about NIC. The new version is so im...

Re: Anyone tried netflix on android or windows?

thanks for testing! i should have been clearer... i find streaming video via a web browser cuts frames e.g. iplayer, itv player. I have a bought a number of cheap eee pcs off ebay and installed ubuntu on and given to family members and they have a similar atom processor to the joggler and streaming ...

Anyone tried netflix on android or windows?

Hi I've just signed up to netflix trial on my ps3! on my joggler I usually run ubuntu but know it won't work on that due to silverlight drm does it work ok on any of the other builds? in my experience web based streaming is pretty poor - xbmc does much better - so i'm guessing it will have a low fra...
