Re: Advice on making a RSS photo frame?

gphotoframe is great- https://code.google.com/p/gphotoframe/ but I let my joggler screen go dark now - it wear sout and goes blurry. I broke out a 2nd joggler I never used for a year - and the display was startlingly clear and sharp. requires ubuntu/linux-mint/lubuntu etc. - wget https://gphotoframe...

Re: amahi.org "home digital assistant" dlna etc

no just weird co-incidence. I'm losing track of things in drawers and boxes around the house, I was searching for a good home inventory database eg "where is 2m usb cable" and an amahi app turned up. I tried the beta on linux mint - took about 2hrs to install! then I just got ruby errors f...

amahi.org "home digital assistant" dlna etc

Anyone tried www.amahi.org?

looks interesting - seems to be initially developed requiring Fedora - but there's a debian/ubuntu setup:

Joggler as Wifi AP router

I've been trying to use my joggler as a wifi router - it works for WEP ad-hoc - but will all the horror stories surrounding drive-by hacking, I want to use WPA. (WPA2 is definitely unsupported in ad-hoc mode it seems). I just can't get WPA ad-hoc to work with the internal ralink 2780 wifi card. it r...

They are usually always available at 49.99.. looks like advancedmp3players.co.uk have bumped prices up but are using vouchers to restore the price but squeeze the not-savvy out of their hard earned. http://www.myvouchercodes.co.uk/codes/50-off-soundscience-qsb-speakers-only-pound49-99-at-advanced-mp...

I used android for a few months, then the flash drive died :-(, I went -back- to linux mint as the screen shutdown to off (not just black) while still responsive to touch is what I missed most.

linuxmint12 looks like a leap too far for a mere joggler- requires 3d acceleration anyway - back to zram (and now zcache which seems like it might be better.)
