Re: (now gone) Working O2 Joggler - free to collect from central Edinburgh or pay for postage

Thanks Khim

Safely arrived this morning, Pretty swift even with the strike action - will have it fitted in the spare room on our Squeezebox network over the weekend

Thanks again to you and all the good folk hear abouts who keep these lovely little machines, and Squeezebox, going!

Hi - I'm looking for another Joggler or two, but on the south coast so it will be postage if that's OK with you.

Re: Squeezeplay OS - 'hang' in screensaver

Thanks
As I was pulling the power plug I was thinking that I should be using SSH to see what's left running and doing a nice reboot...
Must make a note of the IP addresses - the other thought was just get them to re-boot one a week (ever X weeks maybe) when I'm at work with a cron job
Cheers

Squeezeplay OS - 'hang' in screensaver

Hi fellow Joggler fans. I've got a couple of Jogglers here running Squeezeplay OS, and obviously squeezeplay - wonderful addition to my other players! Every couple of months/weeks they (it's the same on both - sometimes they are both hung) don't properly respond to a touch when idle. Normally they a...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & sqpOS)

@plm You are not the first to ask, and I think I might have achieved it at one point to some degree - as you say it is easy to pull the files from from the controller and compare to the generic version - there is a simple function that you can tweak to stop it showing up on other devices, but I thin...

I have this working - it's set as local storage, I have the path '/mnt/NAS/Pictures'
and it just works - sorry I can't help much more than that.

Re: Why is it nearly all

Hi All What os's do we get that can be installed on nand that is not the standard os. What's your concern? I have a Jogger running (Squeezebox OS and LMS) from an external USB (accessing music from a NAS) but with a bit of work I've made a short USB extension lead to put the 'big' USB stick out of ...

Time Change issue?

Did anyone else have their Squeeze Play "lockup" over the weekend? I'm guessing that it was cased by the time going backwards... Both my native (updated) which only runs sqp (changed scripts to run that in place of tango) and the one running SQ O/S as the media server didn't respond proper...

If you go back through this topic you'll find a link to download an image that can deliver the latest update from a USB stick.

That's pretty much what I thought - will keep my eyes open for a suitable piece of donor hardware, it's not exactly the sort of component that Maplin stocks!

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

Could some kind person post an idiot-proof step-by-step guide to getting CIFS mounting to work with Squeezeplay OS? I have spend many hours trying to get it to work with my Linkstation but with no success. Would roobarb consider adding this to the stock image? I'd say that JimbobVFR400's notes in h...

Where did you manage to find TOSLink transmitters?

I toying with the idea of trying this mod to allow getting rid of the Squeezebox Receiver I'm currently driving from my Joggler - one less Ehternet and power supply in the TV/stereo stack :-).

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

Curiosity got the better of me... I removed samba, and tweaked the fstab and rebooted - it still works, and I didn't have to login in and do the mount instruction :-) I read that roobarb! had added NFS for NAS connection, but didn't appreciate that cifs would be there to connect to my (yet another l...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

I already mount my shares using CIFS without installing any extra software. AFAIK CIFS is no different to Samba. Just an addition to my FSTAB was all it needed. Maybe I should have tried that first! - I just assumed (and we know what that means...) that I needed to add in samba :-( One thing that I...

Where does time come from

Hi I changed my Joggler to this after the previous USB stick with Linux, SB server, and SQP died - It's wonderful - well done roobarb! But I was wondering where it gets the time from? I thought I'd edit the settings to use my ISPs NTP server but it doesn't seem to be running NTP... And a suggestion ...

I think that I may have seen this once - I didn't go in to deep diagnosis (just did a CEGB reset) but your description sounds about right...

Not happened since but we've had lots of power cuts (Thunder storms) recently so it's had frequent resets...

Thanks - I'll try again... Not loud enough for a party but I have t...

I wouldn't say that (yet)

I'm guessing that you are naturally a Windows user so I'm going to suggest that you use WinSCP - that needs SSH, did you enable that or just Telnet?
