So, given all of the above, how long until SQPOS is brought up to speed with the new image?

Looks like you've got a corrupted deb. Redownload and give it another try!

This is because the apt repo it's pointing at has "gone" now. Scroll back through this thread, and there's a sed (or possibly awk - I always get them muddled up) line to swap it to the historical mirrors...

The MAC address is set during the install process.
