Re: Joggler Debian current OS and Hamclock installation image

Thank you very much Pete for this fast and quick solution to reuse my old joggler. I am using WiFi whithout problems with these modifications: wpa_passphrase your-ESSID your-wifi-passphrase | sudo tee -a /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf And changing /boot/network.yaml I solved the screen goi...

Re: Joggler Debian current OS and Hamclock installation image

Great job on this @pete and @jothebulb I have 6 members of my local Ham radio club currently with Jogglers, fantastic . Only issue is that no one has managed to get WiFi working yet , could someone check please [emoji106] . I'm thinking the newer encryption on routers might be too much for the old c...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

Hi all ,
would any specific type of WiFi usb stick that the Debian os would work with and have drivers for please ? The internal WiFi that is on the stock Joggler is not that great and uses older encryption.
Thanks in advance 👍

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

I have one Joggler running 5.10.179 connected on Ethernet and (for reliability) trying to connect a second one on Ethernet too. However, the second one appears to get the same IP address from DHCP. I seem to recall an issue with non unique MAC addresses a long time ago - can anybody advise? Looking...

Re: Joggler Debian current OS and Hamclock installation image

Thanks also to Johnathan 2E0LXQ @jothebulb who's idea it was to put this fantastic application on to a Joggler and also to Elwood Downey, WB0OEW who has the Hamclock project [emoji120]. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230208/b48cb55e5286be1ecb49312e15c4e4ad.jpg Sent from my 2107113SG using Tapat...

Re: FREE: Two boxed Jogglers, one working

Both with original boxes. They've been in storage for many years. One seems fine, the other boots to a white screen that gradually fills with grey smudges. (Actually one time it booted to a grey screen with 'O2' in white lettering, before the smudges took over.) Recipient pays postage, or collect f...

Re: Joggler Debian current OS and Hamclock installation image

That's great Pete , I would like to do this as well [emoji106] The lack of an microphone input would stop a few things but I'm sure a cheap usb one would work ok . There is a great digital radio app called Peanut that might work ok on the Joggler as well but it would need a microphone input . Its li...

Re: Joggler Debian current OS and Hamclock installation image

Thanks Pete [emoji106] it works great , there are so many great Amatuer radio Linux applications I just wish I had more time to get proficient with Linux to get some going on the Jogglers . Some applications would not suit the small screen but others would be great . An SDR would be great and I have...

Re: Joggler Debian current OS and Hamclock installation image

Great job Pete , I downloaded and wrote the image to an old small 8Gb Hp stick that I had previously had Android on using Win32 disc imager ; It booted first time and now it's happily giving updates , showing current time date etc and if you leave it a few minutes the screen goes completely black , ...

Re: A Joggler with bad BIOS chip

Hi it just sounds like the internal storage is broken as the bios has the Efi boot on it , I always use usb boot , either from the side port or using the internal after removing the WiFi card , I then either use ethernet or plug a smaller WiFi usb stick in to the side port . Re: A Joggler with bad BIOS chip

@my94my try this method documented by @pete Recovering an unbootable Joggler Blind typing method 1 - Before you do any of this, it is essential that you have a working usbstick with an efi partition and a working OS with all drivers. 2 - If something you do leaves the Joggler in a non-booting state...
