Re: Hp laptop :-)

Wow!!! Googled and found it on the HP Website: hp-110.jpg Wiki mentions The Hewlett-Packard HP 110 (aka HP Portable) was an MS-DOS compatible portable computer released in 1984. It used a Harris 80C86 running at 5.33 MHz with 272 KB of RAM. It had an 80 character by 16 line monochrome (480 x 128 pi...

Re: Hp laptop :-)

I'm not sure what it's running , at the startup it says press something to reformat or space to continue , press space then another screen comes up .
Andrew I could tell you where I get them but I'd have to kill you 8-).

Re: New Software Installation for Clock

I forget what it does exactly while installing PNP III but I know it boots a couple of times and looks like it's not working . As Dwl99 says put it on another stick , switch back on and leave it , don't look at the screen or what it's doing :-) Have a cuppa , come back . Sent from my Moto G (4) usin...

Re: New Software Installation for Clock

The joggler I have was bought new, around 8 years ago. At the time used as a multipurpose 'tablet', one particularly amazing feature at the time was it could recieve texts. Anyway, the main purpose of the Joggler is to be a digital clock for the living room, and it became solely that once O2 suppor...

Re: Browser kiosk image for Home Assistant dashboards

Dwl99 ha cheers Dave just making sure you are still here , sorry about that , yes Android will boot happily off a tiny external usb but not off the internal memory as it's too small :-( . You can also boot off the internal usb that is occupied by the wireless card but then you would need to use ethe...

Re: Browser kiosk image for Home Assistant dashboards

Thanks for having a look, Pete. Very much appreciated! I think the Joggler is a perfect match for this, HADashboard does all the hard work and is highly customisable and it will breath new lease of life into mine. In fact, I might buy another couple for the bedrooms if it works. :D Dapper , Android...

Re: Browser kiosk image for Home Assistant dashboards

Does anyone know of a way of making the joggler perform as a dashboard for home assistant/hadashboard? I know of a chrome browser image for the raspberry pi that does this; https://github.com/futurice/chilipie-kiosk Any advice, greatly ...

Re: Another find :-)

If VT300 means DEC then it would be VT300 series rather than a particular model. The mount for the screen looks unusual to me but the keyboard looks like a DEC one. VT330 (etc) monochrome async dumb terminal - some had 2 async ports (and could split screen) other had special proprietary DEC protoco...

Re: Another find :-)

Wow...nice find!!! Terminals in the 1990's were just that to back end big boxes (mainframes), Unisys, IBM, etc and used serial connectivity. In the 1970's would play Star Trek on a teletype printer terminal in the water closet adjacent to my physics lab (a 6 hour class). CRT University terminals we...
