Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame

Re: registering joggler with squeezeplay.com
I'm beginning to despair. I have a couple of O2 jogglers and raspberry pi's I use a players (piCorePlayers). I bought one Joggler from an O2 shop, the other from eBay. The eBay joggler often reports that it's registered to another user. I've just been onto my mysqueezebox account and tried to tidy u...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame
Just upgraded (reinitialised) my spare ebay joggler from 3.0.0 to 3.0.3 and was surprised to find that I was still receiving notifications that the device was registered to another user. I thought one of fixes in this release was to have its MAC address anonomised so as to avoid this issue. Then aga...

Re: Best USB stick for Joggler?
An! I remember the days you could get 5 pennyworth of chips and still get change from a tanner! probably wrong sort of chips though.
Shame that 64gig is still too small for my mp3 collection. Still using hard disks. Despite being mechanical they seem to last a while.
Love the posts, guys.

Re: Using a 5VDC 2.5 AMP POE injector with Joggler
Presumably I can do the same with banggood boost converters injecting power at the router end and buck converters at the joggler. It would be nice to free up a power socket! Most el-cheapo boost/buck converters can deliver 3A AFAIK.

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)
Hi. Have been using picoreplayer as remote nodes for my joggler based squeezeplay system. Today I found this http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00O0U37HO/ on HUKD. It's a wifi dlna player. Can squeezeplay stream to dlna endpoints such as these and are they likely to support multiroom which my picoreplayer ...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame
Hi y'all. Took my joggler with v3 installed on an hdd to test (show off) to a mate on his hifi. Was disappointed to find i couldn't use it without registering it on his local network. Is this normal or have I missed a trick? We wanted to use it at a village hall as a source of background Christmas m...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame
Hmmm, already missing WMA on my squeezeplayos v3. Would picoreplayer play WMA streams or does that rely on squeezeplayos doing transcending? Guess I'll play tomorrow - it's a bit late right now. Btw regarding earlier help with multiple entries ending up for my wacko jacko album. All got sorted when ...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame
If you like to change your joggler into an Access Point for your LAN this might help you: This is to address the "lotsa squeezeplayos jogglers with the same hardware id" issue, right? Do not forget to change MYSSID and MYPASSWORD to your liking. Sorry for my ignorance but, if i had severa...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame
Thanks y'all. Gparted did it for me - eventually. Not having a cd/dvd writer caused me pain but eventually found a small utility that wrote iso images to a usb stick so was then good to go. Having exFAT definitely caused issues so went for fat16 as it's a 1gb disk. I copied a dozen or so cd's worth ...

Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame
Hi. Decided to upgrade the hdd to 1tb on my squeezeplayos joggler from 1.09 to v3. It installed it a treat so now I want to reinstate my music and try to stream videos. I used windows to add a exFAT partition to the hdd and put some music on it just to test. Unfortunately I can't get LMS to see the ...

Re: Need a simple bell application for mother in hospice
Sorry to hear the news. I needed something similar for a visiting aunt who has now been moved to hospital with terminal cancer, she's 91 I used a siemens motion detector and paired it to a compatible wireless doorbell. All she had to do was place her hand near the sensor and the doorbell rang. Simple.

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & sqpOS)
Looking forward to the new release though the current version is serving me well. I'm pleased I resurrected my joggler and installed SQPOS as it achieved one of the highest WAF scores of many of my recent projects. Thanks so much. I realise I'll have to reload the OS from scratch but concerned I'll ...

Re: SqueezePlay OS Transmission recipe - panic over
Has any one managed to follow the squeezeplayos recipe on how to install the transmission client. I might as well get the joggler to do something useful with the 20watts of power it's consuming! I sent a PM to the guy who posted the recipe and he reproduced the issue I had. However, I just tried th...

Re: My cunning plan with Squeezeplay OS
Probably not for this thread, but I did say I'd report how I got on with picoreplayers. I've built two, each consists of a raspberry pi model a, wifi dongle and a 256mb sd card. They work a treat as slave players for my joggler squeezeplay Os. One is connected to my hifi stereo, the other to an old ...

Re: My cunning plan with Squeezeplay OS
For LMS on on WHS2011 you just need to install the standard Windows version on the Desktop (for example) there is no server WHS 2011 version of LMS Thanks mate. Since squeezeplayos is running well now on my joggler I've lost the incentive to keep my power-hungry server on just so I can stream music...

Re: My cunning plan with Squeezeplay OS
Outstanding! I got Squeezeplayos going on a usb stick so, flushed with success, decided to install it on a 40gb portable drive as described above. It worked a treat so I decided to install SSH and LMS. It took a while but completely unattended so no sweat. I didn't need any of that "gparted&quo...
