Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & sqpOS)

Hi Pete

Found some spare time over the weekend and tried the virtual cable - works like a treat! Thanks very much!

Have configured easystroke also, so now have a very compact Homeseer/Sqp/Mythtv unit ready to deploy anywhere in the house (thanks to POE!)

Cheers!!!

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & sqpOS)

Hi Pete I dont actually use sound/speech in my Homeseer system, I have never felt the need to use sound, though going forwards I might. The VM it is installed on does not have a sound card presented to it. Will get some time later in the month to try installing sound/speech and I will let you know h...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & sqpOS)

Hi Roobarb! I think i have an issue with the sound configuration with Squeezeplay for Joggler - if i can give some background :- Im using Buzz's base EXT image, with lubuntu minimal desktop installed. I have installed my Home Automation app (no sound required), Mythtv, and SQP from your script. This...

Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.

Thanks Buzz I can confirm that script works for me across reboots! Thanks very much! I think as you suggest, I will stick with the ext4 version however, it seems to be much quicker - and my image is now complete and tested! @ Pete Looking at testing HS3 now :) looking at Jon00s HS2-HS3 connector to ...

Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.

Hi All @Buzz I have rebuilt using the EXT4 image, and the ETH issue does not occur. its running perfectly after reboots - and also seems MUCH quicker than the btrfs image - to install lubuntu desktop took around 5 hours on the btrfs image, just an hour on the ext4 image... I think i will leave journ...

Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.

Will do - just used that BTRFS one as im going to eventually chuck it all on a internal USB stick...

Is the EXT4 ok for USB sticks as long as journaling is disabled?

(I think i used your previous ext4 base image with a HDD based joggler without issue around a year ago...)

Cheers

Re: Ubuntu / Xubuntu for the O2 Joggler.

Hi Buzz I think i have found an issue with your Base image? I have procured 5 more jogglers of the ebay - and each one exibits the same issue... On first boot, eth0 is intialised and works without issue. However, after each reboot, the eth number increments, I got upto eth8 before I was bored. Obvio...

Re: Old Joggler Ubuntu Image

Most (all now) over the air / cable stuff here is HD except for the older TV shows which are still SD. How are you telling MythTV to stream only SD? Ah - good point - I am not actually telling mythtv to do that - I am just watching the SD channels directly (most stuff is still simulcast over here)....

Re: Old Joggler Ubuntu Image

so everything is working with 12.04 + lxde desktop ? Not sure why there was a problem with the latest xubuntu image, but I can only assume it was a compatibility thing with the latest mono etc perhaps. For your system it sounds like 12.04 would be a good version, as it is a lts release. nice set up...

Re: Old Joggler Ubuntu Image

Hi Pete I use a cobbled together backend server - which contains a Core 2 Duo 2ghz CPU, 8gb of ram, and 6 x 2tb seagate green hdds. I use TBS video cards - 2 x 6820 for DVB-T2 & 2 x 6921 for DVB-S2 related stuff. Looking back at my notes - I installed originally by installing Ubuntu Server, then...

Re: Old Joggler Ubuntu Image

Hi Buzz Dont spend any time on it - just wondering if you had the image anywhere... Well - if you like long stories!!!! I run a mythtv system, with 4 frontends, (one of wich is the kitchen joggler - whose sole duty is to provide livetv for the kitchen) and its connected to my backend in the loft wit...

Old Joggler Ubuntu Image

Hi Buzz

Hoping I wont have to use it - but do you have a copy of an Ubuntu 11.04 image hanging about anywhere??

Long story 0 but having issues with mythtv (not joggler related) and may need to revert to a backup - which is only supported up until 11.04......

Re: Ubuntu Base/Server 12.04 & Lbuntu Screen Blanking

Cracked it!! For info - to stop the automatic 10 minute blank display do the following :-

sudo vi /etc/xdg/lxsession/Lubuntu/autostart

add:

@xset dpms 0 0 0
@xset -dpms
@xset s noblank
@xset s off

Save & Reboot!!!!

Job done!!

Cheers

Re: Ubuntu Base/Server 12.04 & Lbuntu Screen Blanking

Hi Buzz
