Re: SqueezePlay OS Beta Test

Is it possible to install the EMGD drivers in SqPOS, so that I can have actual accelleration? The kernel drivers _SUCK_ terribly.

Re: Jogglers forum only Openframe 1.0 sale

pete_c, can I get a dd of the verizon phone hub image? I'm actually _Very_ curious to see if I can sniff the data going to the hid device...

another possibility would be to wire up a Beagle, and sniff the USB traffic to reverse engineer the HID packets...

Re: OpenFrames with DECT chips.

NXP is the company that spun off Philips to handle the Semiconductor division, the chip in question will either have Philips or NXP markings.

Re: OpenFrames with DECT chips.

I've managed to get the telio filesystem image and crack it open. The relevant files are as I expected, black boxed away inside tango. the ONLY library with symbols in it is libdectbase.so, but that's not enough for me to be able to construct a driver. I would need to run the shared lib through some...

Re: OpenFrames with DECT chips.

If the code on the image you talk about is what I think, it'll basically be a black box. Worst case, I need to sniff the traffic to the hid stack, to figure out what needs to be sent and when. There is already a HUGE win in that the device itself exposes itself using standard USB framing, now I just...

OpenFrames with DECT chips.

Ok, so.. Good news: (1) the DECT hardware on the OpenFrames with DECT chips is exposed as a combination of a sound card, and an HID device for control. (2) These devices show up in the kernel, hidraw0 on my joggler talks directly to the DECT chip. The bad news? I don't have a data book on the VegaOn...

Re: Reflashed OpenFrame2 with Roobarb's OS and now have soun

Has anyone read the chips off the DECT part of the board? I _REALLY_ want to cross reference them to a data sheet, so that I can at least start hammering on some sort of driver, or find a way to talk to the fucking thing.

Re: Reflashed OpenFrame2 with Roobarb's OS and now have soun

Which sound card is the one for the DECT units? I have some OpenPeak units that look like Jogglers, and curiously have the following output from alsa: **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: MID [HDA Intel MID], device 0: STAC92xx Analog [STAC92xx Analog] Subdevices: 0/1 Subdevice #0: su...

joggler-backlight-ambient-sensor-daemon

Hello everyone, I have posted a code snippet for a daemon that adjusts the Joggler's brightness, based on a scaled reading of the ambient light sensor. It is here on the wiki: http://www.jogglerwiki.com/wiki/Ambient ... ght_Daemon

Hopefully you guys will find this useful.

Re: Openpeak Openframe 7 Telco Hub DECT use mods

tschak has currently implemented Linux MCE on his Joggler and is looking to integrate the DECT phone stuff; I am guessing at this. http://linuxmce.org/ Note that this is a replacement OS versus a modification of the existing built in Openpeak flash based OS's. It will / does provide a different fea...

Re: Any devices LIKE the Joggler or OpenFrame still being ma

I am fully aware of these devices, and very familiar with the hardware on them. They do not meet my criteria, at all. I need a standing touch screen device, that does not run on battery power, that is built on commodity hardware that I can replace with another operating system, that provides a decen...

Anybody know of any fixes to get rid of the RF noise? I'm guessing the lack of FCC cert means that this device probably has very little in the way of shielding...

Re: Any devices LIKE the Joggler or OpenFrame still being ma

LinuxMCE is a direct descendent of PlutoHome, which was a project that ran from 2003 to 2007. We took the code, and created a community process around it after the original company declared insolvency. It is worth noting that this system really is focused to be an appliance, building using off the s...

If you want to see what I've been working on for almost the last decade:

Even today, 10 years on, there's not a system that even comes close to its architecture, and feature spread.

Any devices LIKE the Joggler or OpenFrame still being made?

OpenPeak made some _very_ amazing pieces of hardware, for vertical markets that ultimately never materialized... Is anyone out there making devices that can be purchased, that have a similar schema? Touch screen, built in stand, speakers, network, wifi, maybe part phone? I am a core developer of a F...

Re: Open Peak Devices

Hi. Loving this thread, and keeping all the notes for when I manage to get an OpenPeak 2.0 device. I've been drooling all over these devices since I first saw them in 2010, and basically got told to fuck off by OpenPeak when I enquired about at least getting a device to integrate into our Smart Home...
