Re: SqueezePlay OS for android?

Possible - yes, probably. Too much work? For me, yes, definitely! If it's a commercial product running Android, the likelihood is that it's an ARM device. So you would need to recompile SqueezePlay for ARM (as the Joggler is Intel x86 based). You'd also need to restructure the interface for the dev...

Re: TV on Joggler / Kernel Sources Required

No problem, I understand.

I think I'll have to leave it for the moment. I've dedicated far too much time to this already with no results.

I may get back to it at some point. Depends if I can get it working on a raspberry Pi or pogoplug more easily.

Thanks for the reply anyway.

Re: TV on Joggler / Kernel Sources Required

Hmm, I was beginning to think that might be required.

The only problem is I don't have a clue how to do it!

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

I have tried searching google, but I've reached my limit.

Re: TV on Joggler / Kernel Sources Required

Just to resurrect this old thread. I've been trying to compile the latest Linux TV (media_build) and I'm not getting very far. I'm running SQPOS externally on a (16gb) USB stick, with the partition expanded to use the full space available. So storage shouldn't be an issue. I want to get my Geniatech...

This is exactly what I compiled, so, bear with me, I'll zip up and upload the output and you can try and find the relevant bits.

That'd be great if it's now in there.

Thanks!

Re: TV on Joggler / Kernel Sources Required

I do take requests! ;) Having had a read, it would seem that the drivers for this aren't going to make it into the kernel until 3.16 / 3.17. Do you happen to know where this 'crazycat' patch that's mentioned lives? I'm assuming that this is actually an open source driver that's been developed, but ...

Re: TV on Joggler / Kernel Sources Required

Full kernel source is always available from kernel.org - this is the full listing - you need linux-3.10.29.tar.xz. However, it looks like support for RTL2832 was only added in kernel 3.11, so it probably won't do you much good. You'll always need to compile on external memory - there's really no ro...

Re: TV server - usb hub questions

Funnily enough, I run XPenology, but in Proxmox which is a Virtualisation platform. The other VMs I also have are a VOIP PABX and a Sophos UTM gateway, Windows Server 2008 and a number of other Linux distributions, all running at the same time. I have TVheadend running on XPenology (through Debian ...

Re: TV server - usb hub questions

The Roku boxes don't decode MPEG2 unfortunately, but Plex should be able to transcode the transport stream. I know there is a transcode option on the later releases of TVheadend which is what I have successfully running on the N54l, my ideal is that I would plug the TV aerial directly into the N54L...

Re: TV server - usb hub questions

@Dec do you use Plex at all? I'm hoping to use one of my jogglers to run TVHeadend to feed Plex using the tvheadend-ng channel to feed TV out to my NowTV boxes. Just got to work out how Plex will fare transcoding the stream(s) on my N54L microserver which doesn't have too much in the way of grunt. ...

Re: TV server - usb hub questions

Incase anyone is interested, I'm using a Sandisk Extreme 16gb USB 3.0 stick for my boot drive for this project. I've also put this info on the USB stick thread here: http://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25 So far my Joggler has remained up & running and appears very stable. I've had ...

Re: Best USB stick for Joggler?

Just my 2p here - I've recently been playing with SanDisk Extreme USB 3.0 sticks . They're brilliant and OpenFrames boot from them just fine. Obviously the Joggler doesn't have USB 3.0, but the quality of the flash memory in these sticks is really first rate. The 16GB ones will do 250MB/s read and ...

RC6 remote with SpOS

Thanks for the reply. My install is on the internal memory - sorry I should have mentioned that before. I guess if v2 is needed then that's what I'll have to do. As the remote appeared to be working, with no initial configuration, I just wondered if there was a simple config file that could be alter...

RC6 remote with SpOS

Is my only option to upgrade to SpOS V2.06 and install lirc-x? I have tried searching this (and other) forums for any help, but I was unable to find anything related. I'm sorry if I've missed anything obvious. It would really complete my setup. All I would like to do is be able to pause my music, as...

RC6 remote with SpOS

I have an O2 Joggler, running SpOS 1.09, with a RC6 (windows media centre) receiver & remote connected via the USB port and need a little help. In it's current state I'm able to move between menus and change the volume. The only thing missing is the ability to pause/stop playback. Is there any w...

Re: TV server - usb hub questions

Another little update:

Time shifting appears to work ok. I managed to test the alternative XBMC pvr.tvh add-on with Openelec. There is a pre-built plugin available for x64 builds of Openelec.

Brilliant! :-)

TV server - usb hub questions

Thanks for that , yes I am trying the lan rather than wireless next step and a lighter Linux build on internal USB ,next . Yes transcoding might be an issue but you have managed a lot from the humble Joggler so I will try again :-) Cheers The issue with transcoding is that it is very CPU intensive ...

Re: TV server - usb hub questions

Thanks for documenting your success with this project :-) , it is the main reason I am giving Plex media server a go again on the Joggler . Good luck. Please keep in mind I'm not getting my Joggler to transcode anything. It just pushes the raw DVB-T (SD Freeview) data around - whether that is recor...

Re: TV server - usb hub questions

Just to be clear, I'm not playing anything on my Joggler.

It is only acting as a server/backend to supply other devices on my network.

Seems to work great for that purpose though!
