Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

I have several other Jogglers on 5.10.186 working fine, two have USB DACs but are low-cost 16 bit/41Khz ones. I will persevere a bit more, my current hunch is something in the start-up Script that is causing the crash. I think testing the audio outside of Squeezeplayer is my next test... I tried a ...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

@roobarb and others... A weird one and I am a bit clueless as to how to troubleshoot. Any suggestions how I could debug and ideally fix this? Thanks! Well I have spent about eight hours trying to solve this and find workarouds but without any joy. :( As a controller it works fine As soon as one mov...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

@roobarb and others... A weird one and I am a bit clueless as to how to troubleshoot. For background, I have a Joggler running the legacy Squeezeplayer OS in our lounge which is connected to a Sabaj A3 amplifier with built in USB DAC. This is the last unit on my list to upgrade to something newer......

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

Not quite there yet Ahh, the old script still points to BirdsLikeWires backend and not the new dedicated server. Could you edit line 148 in the /usr/local/sbin/of-install script and change the SQPSERVER string to: SQPSERVER="https://openbeak.net/openframe/squeezeplay/v7.8" That should hav...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

I built a Joggler using the latest Bullseye build (5.10.186) and in the past the "of-install" script to install Squeezeplay worked, but sadly it now fails. It seems to be trying to download 7.8 from https://openbeak.net/openframe/squeezeplay/v7.8/ but the folder is empty. Any chance you ca...

Re: Debian Bookworm for OpenFrame

@roobarb! Thanks for doing this, it is great you are keeping these Jogglers alive :-) I needed to build a new Squeezeplay Joggler and tried this build but the script to install Squeezeplay isn't included. I had a look at the package below but didn't get far due to my lack of Linux skills. I suspect ...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

That would be very odd, are you transferring an image between devices or duplicating one which is already configured? The only way two different devices would get the same 02: prefixed MAC address would be if the MAC of the WiFi cards were the same. The 02: prefix denotes a locally adminstered addr...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

Hi all , would any specific type of WiFi usb stick that the Debian os would work with and have drivers for please ? The internal WiFi that is on the stock Joggler is not that great and uses older encryption. Thanks in advance 👍 As you will see from my earlier posts, I tried a generic Realtek adapto...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

I have one Joggler running 5.10.179 connected on Ethernet and (for reliability) trying to connect a second one on Ethernet too. However, the second one appears to get the same IP address from DHCP. I seem to recall an issue with non unique MAC addresses a long time ago - can anybody advise? Looking...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

My journey to 5.10 really isn't going well :-(

My latest issue is that when I try and use my USB DAC/Amp with 5.10.179 it crashes the Squeeeplayer app. Any suggestions as to what I can check - I think the unit is still alive and can probably look at logs, etc?

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)

I had an old favourite for BBC R4 which didn't work so assumed those streams were dead now. I added a BBC Sounds version as a favourite. What system are you running LMS on? It has to transcode the BBC streams because they aren't supported by the Joggler and it uses LAME to do that. See this link to ...

Re: SqueezePlay for Joggler (Native, Ubuntu & SQPOS)

You will need to delete those favourites as they will no longer work. In the UK, BBC radio streams are now only available via the new BBC platform. You can add them again from BBC Sounds when you get it working in LMS. What version of LMS are you using and on what platform? There is quite a good WIK...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

I am trying to install an "out-of-kernel" driver for the Realtek 8811CU so I can use a better, low cost USB WIFI. The instructions to install the drivers are at https://github.com/morrownr/8821cu-20210916 but I am a Linux numpty and have struggled at the first step and am hoping someone c...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

Hi - I had this exact issue and the solution for me was to set the transcoding for the joggler (see this post: https://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=33365#p33365 ). A couple of caveats though: I am not on the most recent Joggler build (one from the end of last year) so can't vouch for t...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

I am rebuilding a Joggler and used 5.10.176 from 23 March 2023 and that booted fine. However, audio is bad (stutters) with the BBC Sounds plug-in, but works fine for Global, Spotify, my ripped music, etc. BBC Sounds also works fine on the SB Radio, so issue is specific to the Joggler. Anyone got any...

Re: Debian Bullseye for OpenFrame

I am setting up another Joggler and downloaded the 4 Aug 2022 build 135 and it didn't boot. I noticed that it is a LOT smaller than previous ones so perhaps the build failed? I downloaded the 30 July 2022 build 134 and that one booted fine.

I built a new USB stick with 3.16 and installed Squeezeplay but no updates. I had it connected on Ethernet and it worked for an hour or so and then Squeezeplay crashed to the CLI. Testing again now...
