Re: SqueezePlay OS (Version 3) for OpenFrame

It's been a long time since I last was on this forum. I could use some help with the Spotty installation on a Joggler with SQOS 1.9, which reports that 7.7.1 is the latest LMS version (why SQOS 1.9? Long story: couldn't get ntfs-3g running on later versions and I need that for the attached HDD with ...

Re: 24/96 Squeezeplay and External USB DAC

Dan1502 reported problems with SqOS 2.06 and low volume from his USB DAC using EDO. I can confirm that this problem occurs with several different USB DACS, all working well with EDO under SqOS 1.09. Also, I couldn't get a Hiface USB->SPDIF interface working consistently with 2.06, whilst it does wit...

Re: 24/96 Squeezeplay and External USB DAC

I'd like to do some buffer tuning to test if I can solve dropout issues with my Joggler / Audio GD DI-V3 setup under EDO. Can anyone set me in the right direction how to do that? Since I have the problem that there is no interface/menu coming up under digital output when the DI-V3 is connected, I su...

Re: 24/96 Squeezeplay and External USB DAC

Today, my Audio GD DI-V3 USB->SPDIF interface arrived. It was easy to extract sound from it using the Joggler as a Transport: attach it, select 'USBudio - Audio GD ' in the digital ouput section (which EDO adds to the additional features menu), reboot the Joggler - done! It sounds really really good...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

Sorry Positively, I have no experience with vfat but some 'googeling' suggests that could indeed work. May I suggest another option? If you install samba on the joggler you can keep the disk connected to the joggler and update music from your mac desktop to it like it was a disk in your mac. Much ea...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

My post above also explains how I solved my problem posted in August 24. I stick to UUID to secure accurate mounting, but the addition of the mount option 'nobootwait' added the required flexibility (eg when one needs to change the disk for another, the system doesn't hang and you can actually make ...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

Hello Positively. I think you can solved this by mounting the disk using the UUID - a unique identifier of the usb hdd you are using. Also, you need to define a fixed point to mount to. The essential steps are (first login as root) a) create a dir to mount to. I call it USBHDD by default: mkdir /med...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

I use SqOS so that I can run the server on it. I also mounted a HDD to the system, my music lib is on it. Thanks to all of you that made this possible! I used to mount the usb hdd by using its UUID. That has a downside: if you put in another disk (eg a replacement), the mount fails and the system ha...

IR Blaster Plugin - also for Joggler?

As described on http://www.gwendesign.com/slimserver/dev_hard_and_software.htm#irblaster there is a plugin from Felix Mueller that allows 'blasting' IR commands via the Squeezeplayer system. It would enable me to use my tablet to control both the Joggler AND eg the volume of my amplifier. On the har...

Re:

Arie The image doesn't actually use the whole stick, that way it also fits on smaller sticks than yours. You can resize the main partition and that should solve your problem. I have a bootable GParted CD that I use for doing this, if you have Linux on the your PC you can use GParted on there. http:...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

My Joggler runs SqOS 1.09 plus LMS server (so both on the joggler); music is on a usb HDD. Lately, the server has become very unstable. It often starts with covers no longer showing in the display (or on the remote display of eg tablet). Later, it seems to have lost track of the actual music: no mus...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

Today, I added an optical output to my Joggler as instructed in the wiki pages (just google for joggler add spdif...). Under PNP3 (with EDO), I edited the config files just like the instructions in the wiki and it worked straight away. But under Squeeplay OS running the Wilberforce EDO modification ...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

To get Squeezeplay OS running with ntfs-3g, I had to go back to V1.07 because V1.09 has not enough space in the boot partition. The changelog mentions for 1.09: 'Reduced boot partition size again, now down to 16MB.' I followed all the tips of Guido on http://birdslikewires.co.uk/articles/squeezeplay...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

Now that I've got Squeezeplay OS running with the LMS server on it, I'd like to add a HDD to put the music library on. I attached a 3.5hdd with NTFS filesystem via the usb hub that also holds the usb stick it boots on. The disk is not mounted automatically. I now succeeded to mount manually using > ...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

SOLVED! Apologies for the 'spam' this generates. I did a full reinstall of the Squeezeplay OS on the same usb stick, installed SSH and now it works. The installation logfile also doesn't mention the 'dpkg failed to open...' now but instead gives lots of information on the steps in the ssh installati...

Re: SqueezePlay OS for Joggler

Got SqueezePlay OS up and running from a usb stick in no time thanks to the very clear instructions on Birdsonawire's site (many thanks!). But: I have a problem reaching the Joggler via putty or telnet. I enabled SSH on the joggler by automatic installation from the settings-advanced settings-additi...
