I used tools of FX to remount in RW the filesystem but renaming the files I have an error that says not possible to rename (before remounting in RW I had the read only file system error). Are these files &qu...

When I was a child I had the dream to have a computer, inspired by science fiction movies, talking computers, home automations, computes so little to be weared or kept in a pocket... In the 70's It was REALLY science fiction... But just few...

Re: Nook Simple Touch - a cheap hackable e-reader

...The best for me is to have the possibility to zoom! Re: Nook Simple Touch - a cheap hackable e-reader

Hi Gegs, thanks for answer! I'll do another try, yes I used Nook Manager. I used the wrong term, not "direction", I meant "orientation" (landscape/portrate, not that important). The best for me is to have the possibility to zoom! I'll try to re-root it again and disable all the a...

Re: Nook Simple Touch - a cheap hackable e-reader

Hi Gegs, I rooted it after few hours and I must say it became a little bit slower. Yesterday I did a hardware reset (power on and immediately hold the two below buttons) to factory reset, this restored original OS removing (or disabling) rooting. And yes the speed is better. I think is not too bad w...

Re: Ubuntu backlight control

I confirm, sorry for replying so late, if you want to do a real test with echo, become root for example with:
sudo -s

then run the echo 5 > brightness

if it works you can create a script/wrapper you can call with sudo.

Re: Domotics for dummies

Hi Pete, just to use this software you don't need to buy anything, it's a simple software that allows you to create one or more pages with buttons, any button can do an action (http request or run a shell script), load another page, open URL, whatever. So, if you already have a generic domotic syste...

Re: Domotics for dummies

Documentation is still (very very very) in progress, so please take a look to the page1.xml to see all the possibility. Still undocumented and not directly visible here, we have the possibility to use: file:///path/to/file.conf (notice THREE slashes) in domoticz.cfg to define the path where to get x...
